tony cub Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 with the way the economy is going and prices on everything going sky rocket,i am tring a new upgrade and need input from the hq.i will be chrome plating a stock stator cover at my freinds chrome plating shop.he's had a a plastic cover chromed on his bike for the year and has had no problem with the chrome.this will be plated not painted..any input Quote
2001Stroker Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 What do you do with the bike? A woods bike? Chrome will eventuall peel off of plastic. It's too flexible, IMO. Quote
tony cub Posted January 9, 2009 Author Report Posted January 9, 2009 he trail rides..ive seen the cover and we all know that our foot rubs all over it when shifting,to my surprise its not even flaking off after a year of use and this guy rides at least every other weekend. Quote
2001Stroker Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 Screw it. He's a buddy of yours? If he ain't charging you much or nothing at all, then I say do it. You don't really have anything to lose, right? Quote

2001Stroker Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 I wouldn't say that. Next thing you know, your buddy's going out of business cause you're giving away his labor and chroming materials. EDIT: Cause one thing's for damn sure. I'd be sending him tons of crap to get chromed if he was doing it for free. You'd need sunglasses to ride with my ass  Quote
tony cub Posted January 9, 2009 Author Report Posted January 9, 2009 i'm going to be doing mine next week.i was just thinking it couldn't be all that bad all the grills on our truck are plastic and they hold up pretty well. Quote

jamebo Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 If the chrome sticks, I think it would look sweet. Probably be lighter than a billet cover, too. Quote
