studroes Posted December 27, 2008 Report Posted December 27, 2008 just wanted to know what your opinion on reed spacers is?? i have them on my 4mil with shearer inframes and 38mm lectrons. im still working on the carbs to get them where i want to be but i want to know if they are worth having on there or if they are just a waste. i do basically all topend pavement riding so whatever makes best mid-top power is what im lookin for! 2001Stroker Posted December 27, 2008 Report Posted December 27, 2008 I wouldn't use them unless your left carb is hitting the clutch. You can also get rid of that problem by investing in a Boss, ModQuad, or ProDesign type of intake. They move the carbs up and back. Quote
Snopczynski Posted December 27, 2008 Report Posted December 27, 2008 On your motor they would make a difference and give it a little more midrange power at the sacrifice of a very small amount of topend. They dont do much on stock bore and stock stroke motors. Quote
studroes Posted December 27, 2008 Author Report Posted December 27, 2008 (edited) the carbs clear the clutch good now but i dont know how it would be without the spacers. is there any performance gains or loses with or without them? the midrange comes on really strong..would you sacrifice a little on the midrange and get rid of them for all topend or wouldnt i be able to tell a difference? deckheight Posted December 28, 2008 Report Posted December 28, 2008 Uuhhh, I didn't get that. Could you say it again please? Quote
locogato11283 Posted December 28, 2008 Report Posted December 28, 2008 unless youre having fitment issues with your carbs i would not bother with them. youre not gonna see much of a gain if any from it. you also end up with 1 more spot on each cylinder to seal. Quote

I'd bet you don't even feel a difference or even notice it in a time slip if you race on a track. You might see a HP or two on a dyno...if that. Quote
