Ok heres the deal ive got my banshee with t-5's, filter, and turns out the previous owner had it ported (didn't know this when i bought it a few years back)... but that explains why it's always been faster then most other banshee's. My father is about to sell his banshee which has a cool head and v-force reads; he was nice enough to let my take off both before he sells it  ... I work accros the street from a gas station that has VP from the pump!!! and i've been dying to have an excuse to go there and buy some lol. So my question is what domes would you guys recomend? i also plan on advancing the timing so again running race gas with my mods what advancement in timing would you guys recomend? Also i have a modified set of stock reed cages with bosen duel stages that i'm a little bias to but willing to give the V-force a try if they are as great as everyone says... anyone with experiance comparing a modified cage to a v-force? And one more thing is a single 38 pwk carb to big for a banshee cause i got an old one lying around from my 250r days? ohh and most my ridings going to be at glamis so tune for that.

MODS:

-Tommey t-5

-k/n

-Porting (strong top end)

-Cool-head

-Timming plate

-Race gas

Questions:

1. what cc domes?

2. what timming?

3. Moddifid reed cage or V-force?

4. Is a single 38 pwk to big?

thanks,

Yeah I'd say about 17-18cc domes. And dont go to a single carb set up for a top end bike, single carbs work better for low end trail or mx bikes. As far as the reeds, I'm running ported stock cages with boysen dual stage petals also and love 'em I havn't personally compared them on a shee, but know people who have and said go with the stock ported cages, they are cheaper and are just as good if not better, and I have compared them on a YZ125 and a blaster and on both I found the stock ported worked better

volfan: Just got the stockers on right now... did some quick calculations and the area of a 38mm crab is bigger then that of two 26mm, so would i still lose top end? is there other factors im not considering when switching to a single carb?

278: ok cool i'm gonna take the reeds anyway as he offered and they really wont bring any value to his bike regardles... and no single carb either? dang it!!

Is your crank welded? i think it should be to keep it reliable, those kind of mods could cause your crank to spread. I have had one spread and take out the main bearing on the stator side, it was even welded but the weld broke.

firebanshee: Didn't even think about that and not really sure what the motor has done to it (bought it from a shop that got it on trade)... anyone know of a shop around temecula, ca that would weld and true a crank? and roughly how much is this to get done?

Just to give you a ballpark idea on cost, I charge $60 to true/weld cranks...but, I'm not in cali. What is your elevation?? 17's would be on the small side for a bike at sea level IMO. Also what kind of power gains are you looking for in it, high compression will hurt your over-rev and add low end power.
