c zappy r Posted December 8, 2008 Report Posted December 8, 2008 Hello, first time posting. I have a 2000 banshee, it is completely stock, even the tires. I bought it in march and it ran well for the first month or so. Then one time i was riding it was like it had no power as if the E- brake was on. After getting it back to the house i noticed there was less smoke coming out of the left side exhaust then the right. I havn't checked the compression but when I ride i now its like it has no power band and always losing power but never dies, it will sit and idle fine. Thanks Quote
dajogejr Posted December 8, 2008 Report Posted December 8, 2008 What have you checked? Could be as simple as fouled spark plugs.... Does it have fresh gas and oil in the tank. Is the air filter clean and unobstructed? Quote

Is the air filter clean and unobstructed? When I got it i changed oil, gas, plugs, and air filter. Since I've had problems with it I've checked the plugs, changed the gas again. which was both fine. I also clean the air filter after every ride and everything with that was fine. Quote
dajogejr Posted December 8, 2008 Report Posted December 8, 2008 Start by checking the sync on the carbs. Quote
c zappy r Posted December 8, 2008 Author Report Posted December 8, 2008 Start by checking the sync on the carbs. Its been a while since ive had a chance to look at it but, that was also one of the things i checked, i was wondering if it could be anything as far as piston, reeds, or something to do with the exhaust. c zappy r Posted December 8, 2008 Author Report Posted December 8, 2008 I also forgot to mention that the coolant often comes out the overflow and it dont hold about 350 mL as the coolant chart specs. Quote
dajogejr Posted December 8, 2008 Report Posted December 8, 2008 I also forgot to mention that the coolant often comes out the overflow and it dont hold about 350 mL as the coolant chart specs. Well...that's kinda a key point to leave out. Sounds like you might have blown a head gasket. Quote
c zappy r Posted December 8, 2008 Author Report Posted December 8, 2008 Sorry about that, just got back in town from college been a while since i looked at it, trying to remeber what all i checked. Tryin to find somewhere to start with but ill start by checking that. Thanks Quote
c zappy r Posted December 9, 2008 Author Report Posted December 9, 2008 There is no fuilds leaking around the head. Could the head gasket still be a problem. Also could it possibly be a hole in the piston or warped head? Quote
