lt1bird Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 Looking for a custom offset front sproket(needs to stick out a bit more like 1/2")....Wondering who makes one? Any help would be great! Thanks! Quote
spike Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 Why would you want such a thing. you would think that it will fuckop your chain alignement? Quote
BigRed350x Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 Fix whatever it is that made you need an offset sprocket. LOL! It would probably be easier than finding / making an offset sprocket. Make one yourself. Just take a sprocket and turn it down in a lathe and weld it to the side of a new sprocket. - Jared Quote
docjcwatson Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 I would also like to know why you would need such a thing. Fix what made you need it to be offset. Offsetting your primary drive sprocket just sounds evil. Quote
locogato11283 Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 im with these dudes.. why do you need this? hybrid conversion or something? Quote
speed-racer Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 An offset sprocket may put some pretty nasty loads on that shaft. I would assume that you need this for a hybrid of some sort. If so, I would try to do something different to get alignment. Quote
dajogejr Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 Either that...or he installed the wrong type of bearing carrier or a 250R style swingarm... Quote
lt1bird Posted November 26, 2008 Author Report Posted November 26, 2008 LOL, Its not a banshee but a 535 in a streetbike chassis..... Looking at doing a fat tire in the back, might need a little offset to clear the rear tire......Ya, I dont want to make my own if someone already makes some......If I have to I will........I did find one at www.twostrokeshop.com http://www.twostrokeshop.com/two_stroke_shop_parts.htm ......looks like 1" offset.... Might be a bit too much for what i need... If anyone knows where I can get one??? Gotta be some application for someone needing to do this...I cant be the only one Thanks! Quote
dajogejr Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 Well...that makes a little more sense...LOL... Call Sprocket Specialists. they can make/machine any kind of sprocket you can dream of. Quote

4stroker Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 thetwostrokeshop is in australia, only about 4 hours away from me actually. just get the 1 inch offset sprock off them and turn it down to whatever you need? should be fairly cheap considering the exchange rate at the moment... Quote
lt1bird Posted November 27, 2008 Author Report Posted November 27, 2008 Good bunch of guys there! You cant really turn it down the way its made.... It might still work out just fine so I will probably get it anywy just in case Thanks1! Quote
BigRed350x Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 I'd get a bearing support stator cover to help with the torsional load that sprocket would put on your main output shaft. Get a hold of K&T, A&S, etc. They all make one. Quote
lt1bird Posted November 28, 2008 Author Report Posted November 28, 2008 I did see that cover.....my bike only weighs about 300lbs.....I dont think the loads will be to bad.....The two stroke shop runs the same setup...no problems under race conditions.... Quote
