grpark20 Posted November 12, 2008 Report Posted November 12, 2008 I was wandering if the cover behind the clutch...see pic....is needed or usefull? It looks like it may restrict tranny fluid flow and divert the fluid over the the clutch? If removed wouldn't it flow better? Anyone ran a shee without it? http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp83/gr...20/DSCN0412.jpg Quote

Leave it. Quote
grpark20 Posted November 12, 2008 Author Report Posted November 12, 2008 Anyone know the thread size/pitch of the bolts that hold the plate on? Quote
J-Madd Posted November 12, 2008 Report Posted November 12, 2008 I thought it kept the keeper that is under it from coming out incase the bolts backed out..but it does look like it wouldn't be needed for that on second thought, though I'm sure it serves a purpose. Quote

It doesn't keep the keeper in because I took the keeper off first! Wild sentence!! Quote
J-Madd Posted November 12, 2008 Report Posted November 12, 2008 Ok. So everytime I've split the cases I've taken that piece off for nothing. :shoothead: and anyone who has taken that off knows it's a biatch to keep from stripping the head of the screw. Quote

Yep....I stripped, then broke one. I got a hex head bolt to go in one and cut the other bolt flush and welded over the hole. Quote
jbooker82 Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 That cover looks like it is supose to scoop or catch oil and funnle it down in to the berring for luberation. I would replace the screws with button head allen bolts. Quote
