firebanshee Posted November 12, 2008 Report Posted November 12, 2008 I was wondering if anyone has ran these pipes just bought a set awhile back and havent had a chance to try them yet havent heard alot about these pipes. Quote
firebanshee Posted December 1, 2008 Author Report Posted December 1, 2008 I was wondering the same thing... I think Im still going to go with the BB shearer out of frames ....But if someone could post up dyno numbers on these pipes over the shearer pipes on back to back test Im all for them, those pipes are bad ass looking... Redline has my bike right now and he had it on the dyno and ran it up and then stuck a set of shear pipes on it and he said that the shear made 2 to 3 more peak horse power but the wicked pipe had a broader power range.I asked him if i should switch pipes and he said to keep the ones i have cause it wouldnt be worth it to change.I am a bigger guy so i am after more torque than peak horse power.I am going to 39 carbs and having my cub decked and he might port it alittle then i will have some dyno #s when he is done.I had it dynoed after i posted this nobody seems to know alot about these pipes i really like the looks of them and you dont see alot of them. firebanshee Posted December 4, 2008 Author Report Posted December 4, 2008 Wow that shocks me that they actually made a broader power band than the shearers..I know the shearers are hard to beat when it comes to the powerband because they usually sign off way later than any other pipe.I got to admit those wicked pipes are bad ass looking that is for sure. I talked to cameron monday and we pretty much covered the alky idea and I decided Im going to go ahead and do it. I think Im going to go with 41mm lectrons,2-5 dunable overide, and a drag port all done by Cameron at redline..I cant wait. Ill probably have mine to him in febuary due to the fact that Im stripping mine down to lighten the frame and replace a few heavy parts. I think your are making a good choice having him do your bike since he is out on the dunes alot and will help you tune your bike if you need help. Hopefully see you out there some time you will have to post some pics of your bike when you are done so i know what to look for. I might be going the lectron route as well. Quote
firebanshee Posted December 4, 2008 Author Report Posted December 4, 2008 Yeah Ive heard nothing but great things about Redline. Yeah it would be great to see you out there Im sure your bikes a runner. I probably wont make it to the dunes for a while since Ive actually got alot of work to do on it, I just dont have the time right now because Im always out of town. What kind of numbers did your bike put down with your setup as is right now? I think he said 94hp and 63 torque, he said my carbs are holding me back alot,i cant wait till it's done to see the difference. My bike won't be at the coast for awhile either.I want to take it to albany also. firebanshee Posted December 4, 2008 Author Report Posted December 4, 2008 Holy crap thats alot of torque...Those pipes must pull good down low..Ive heard with alky you have to run bigger carbs, so it will be interesting to see what yours ends up at after the carb change. Are you having any port work done? He is decking the cylinder and and cutting the domes and mild port work.I am having him put on the 39 PWK. It was 56 on the torque. Quote
