Jetting Keihin PWK 28mm

My Motor Mods are:

Open air box with prodesign filter setup

Vforce 2 reeds with spacers

FMF Gold Series pipes

+4 Timing advance

28mm Keihin carbs

 

I currently have 155 mains and 45 pilots, Air screw 1.5 turns out. When I start it idles really high and I have somewhat adjusted that. I need some help in getting these carbs dialed in correctly. Amy advice would be greatly appreciated.

What is the deal? You said it idles high but you fixed it. So what are you having a problem with?

You should be real close on the jetting, check your cables at the carbs, idle adjustment. Make sure your cable keepers are both locked in, something other than jetting. I know when I start mine up with the choke it idles a little higher than I like but I just shut the chokes down real quick.

I think your 45 pilots are kinda small... Mine likes 50 pilots w/ airbox like yours and 52's w/ my pods.

I can't get these carbs to idle as crispy as my stockers for some reason. I am gonna put some 50 pilots in them and see how it idles and runs. Are my main jets to rich or are they pretty good????

The mains are about right. Try pulling the chokes and see if it idles better or worse. I think if it idles better you need to go up on the pilot. Correct me if I'm wrong on this guys

Im gonna order a set of 50 pilots today and throw them on and see what happens. I think I need a new throttle cable also. I dont know what type of needle I have in the carb, but what clip should I be using and what clip to set it on??

Set it in the middle and adjust from there

Alot of guys are running JJH needles. Besides the idle issue are you having other problems?
