No no no my friend. I had my rims painted black on my car. After the summer was over i wanted them back to stock. My buddies dad has a body shop and he said to try some aircraft remover to take off the paint. Well it sure did take off the black paint along with the clear coat on the rims right down the bare aluminum. I ended up having to buy new rims that following spring because they were so ugly and look like they were put threw a grinder. If it could take off clear coat on rims I'm pretty sure it would destroy plastic without a problem

Easy-off is the shit, but just be carefull it'll strip powder coating too. Also use it in a well ventilated area with gloves, it is a nasty chemical.

enjoy!

I think acetone is one of the cleanest strippers. You just have to watch how long you leave it on for. Depending on the condition I'd probably use paint thinner.

I find the best way to prep plastic for paint is with the red scotch pads (the auto ones) to get a good scuff on it before painting again. The gouges may need sanding if any.

Unless you are going to try and buff out the plastic then that is whole nother story.

Either way I think you will need to refinnish the plastics.
