prossett Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 The experts have seen it before, but for the rookies here are some pics of the rebuild - done in the UAE: The shop: The mechanics: The quad: The engine: And this is how it's done - first, clean so I can eat my curry straight out of it. Lower carrier: Upper carrier: Slap in the gears, see if they turn - check neutral: Add the crankshaft: Quote

bansheejoel Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 good post, gives people who have never done it confidence to do it there self. I was that way to untill i did it and man it was a piece of cake, expect for yamabond drying so fast lol Quote
_Hex* Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 dude did you guys just put used pistons on that? why whats the point of the rebuild then? Quote
prossett Posted October 6, 2008 Author Report Posted October 6, 2008 (edited) Yeah, with a few basic tools and following the repair manual, I'd say it's within anyone's reach. I hadn't taken the engine apart myself so I wasn't sure, but looking back it really was pretty simple. New pistons buddy. Instead of Yamabond the guys used a tube of car windscreen gasket.
