PLEASE gimme any tips or pointers u can for where to start and important things for some extra power. Thanks a bunch guys!! 1st: NEVER EVER even think about a boost bottle, it does no good except rip your intake boots and blow the motor. most of us prefer 32:1 on the oil and brand is personal preference, and DO NOT mix oils. tell us what kind of riding you do and well go from there there is almost and infinite possibilities for banshee setup. Another tip don't be afraid to work on it, you will spend way too much paying a shop to do the work. we are here you can ask us how to do it and well guide you through it. Quote
bansheejoel Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 get a t.o.r.s. removal kit. i think vitos.com has them pretty cheap....buy a case saver so you dont crank your cases.....other than that we need more info like ls1 said. What do you want out of the shee? what kind of riding? and of cource how much cash do you have to spend? Quote
WeSt CoAsT TrUtH Posted October 6, 2008 Author Report Posted October 6, 2008 Thanks alot already Man.. So far the riding i do is whatever i can get at.. i have excess to a motorcross track and also have a place with some good sand dunes.. i took it out today on the motocross track and it was a blast.. bike has a ton of power, but i'm that guy that always wants to go faster.. and i'm slowly learning on how to work on my own bikes.. i recently replaced the top end of my cr 250. But still don't have a good enough knoledge ... also what do u suggest for pipes? any info is appreciated. Quote
bansheejoel Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 if you ride on a track and some dunes i would get some midrange pipes such as fmf fattys, or paul turner mids. I would prolly do a aggressive trail port or mx port..something that gives you some bottom end but doesnt take away that much from top end. Bump the compression (get a coolhead, or mill the head) advance your timing by +4 degrees with a timing plate and prolly get some pods, as long as you dont ride in mud or water. With those mods you should be rippin pretty damn good. Rebuilding it is just like your cr, if you have any questions there are guys on here that can troubleshoot damn near anything! just ask, you will get hooked up for sure. Quote
WeSt CoAsT TrUtH Posted October 6, 2008 Author Report Posted October 6, 2008 What about a rear axle... i just talked to a buddy and he said it would make my rear end wider and making turning easire.. Thoughts on that? Quote
LS1Inferno Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 What about a rear axle... i just talked to a buddy and he said it would make my rear end wider and making turning easire.. Thoughts on that? well wider is harder to turn. and you can just flip the rims and put the valve stems inside for a few more inches. but you have two totally differnt setups. dunes and MX are completely opposite setups. if you want somthing all around then you first want to do suspension if you are going to do MX; FMF fatty's +4 timing, suspension I.E. a arms and shocks, and trail/mx port. DUNES we go with a reall agressive mid to top end pipe. and dune porting. popular pipes for that ar T-5's, CPI's and others, and we usually due the suspension last for that. and the shock setup is different. so if you want to do both let us know what you would do the most Quote
OKCterror Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 welcome to ok, def do the wider axel, i have a +3 and it helps alot, but i mainly drag. Better swinger helps, Ive got a +2 but about to go to a 4, do some minor motor work to get big power. Hit me up sometime and we'll ride Quote
acfine Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 I ride mostly MX style and tight trails... I have FMF Fattys, 300 Mains, NOSS Coolhead, and some others, see my sig. It f*cking screams! I have sitting on my bench my Chariot racing timing plate that will be going on soon. I used to run a Kawasaki Tecate 4 with a widened rear-end, and in my opinion, it makes tight turns harder. A good set of tires will help you with ass-end control. I chose the ITP Holeshots, and love 'em to death! I'd start with pipes, and intake and jets... Those were the first 3 mods made, and the bike was night and day different. Then I added the coolhead w/21cc does, and man, it rocks... I just can't wait to get the timing plate done, should be done this week...and rock'n and rollin'... And yes, do the work yourself...don't make it more complicated than it is. And with ALL the information here, you'll be fine. I did my coolhead install on my back patio in a few hours. Good luck bro... Anthony Quote
