bansheejoel Posted September 30, 2008 Report Posted September 30, 2008 say you have the average joe banshee with pipes, pods, paddles, swinger etc. How much would you make give or take on a partout? i know where i can get one for $900 and thinking of buying it then parting it.. Quote
bansheejoel Posted September 30, 2008 Author Report Posted September 30, 2008 oh, screw that. Its not even worth my time for that lol Quote
Wildcardracing Posted September 30, 2008 Report Posted September 30, 2008 If you're patient, I think you could near double your $$ on that if it runs and is in decent shape. Quote
dekker Posted September 30, 2008 Report Posted September 30, 2008 Joel you will make about 1000 on the motor if it runs good Quote
dajogejr Posted September 30, 2008 Report Posted September 30, 2008 I parted out a complete bike with two sets of plastics, complete motor...but a hole in a piston. I made about 700 bucks or so off it, after the purchase prices, etc. The key is how desirable the parts are... And Ebay is the way to go. Sorry to say...but most of the guys on various forums are tire kickers instead of buyers, so you spend a lot of time answering questions...and people expect you to give shit away. Ebay you don't have as much back and forth. Here it is, here's the selling price...pay it or not. If you have the time and a system for boxing and shipping parts (NYUK and minkia38 do pretty well) then it'll work. IT's a lot of time and effort...I'd ebay the bike. I wouldn't even post it on forums. Quote
bansheejoel Posted October 1, 2008 Author Report Posted October 1, 2008 yeah that would be awesome if every part could be sold locally. Shipping is to much of a hassle for me....thanks for the input guys Quote
locogato11283 Posted October 1, 2008 Report Posted October 1, 2008 either fuckin way, buy that shit for 900 bucks.. thats a steal Quote
jjn56 Posted October 1, 2008 Report Posted October 1, 2008 You would make double you money easily on ebay, a running motor on ebay sells for $1,000. I know ,I had a rolling frame and was looking forever... Finally found a guy selling a complete banshee locally that needed a top end and got him down to $1,000. Sold my rolling frame for $700.00. Put $300.00 into my top end and I've got a new bike. I've sold 2 stock Banshee exhausts for $50.00 each plus shipping on ebay - I never would have thought someone would want a stock exhaust. Quote
f4istunna Posted October 2, 2008 Report Posted October 2, 2008 I agree you should easily make your money back and be able to keep some parts if you want. I parted a cpl out over the past few years to build complete nice bikes I usually made my money back on the parts bikes and got to keep several parts i wanted for the build I just tore down a good running motor to sell seperate :: Shoulda threw it on fleabay whole Quote
