Bummed.

Hey just thought id vent a bit. Well a few days ago my clutch cable snapped no big deal. Got a new one and clean and tightened everything up on the bike. It was running so good today. Everything was perfect. What do you know, the balljoint from the lower a-arm came off. I mean the ball literally came out of the arm. I wasnt riding it, my buddy was. Luckily he wasnt wide open. He offered to pay for everything, but im just glad hes ok. Well is this a common problems on shees or is this just a freak accident?

 

By the way, i love this banshee.A couple guys i was riding with today on 09 450 dirtbikes with all the fuel injection and what not watched me ride and were like damn man that looks like a ton of fun and a handful to hold on to, i dont think i could ride it. haha. props to the shee\

stock a arms? No, ball joint goes bad, its time to buy another arm.

First one I've heard of doing that You might check the other three...or use that as an excuse to upgrade to +2 a-arms :biggrin:

You can ussually tell when they're about ready to go. Check and make sure the other 3 dont have excessive play in them.

Welp, just to add more frustration to the situation. I ordered a used a-arm off flea-bay and it came yesterday. I painted it white to match the other a-arm. Went to put it on and what do you know, itf for the left side not the right. The auction said right side.

IMO... NEVER by a used a-arm. Unless you actually know and trust the person your buying from. Just buy a new one. There what 150 bucks. yeah its expensive, but its also safer.
