jrod Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 Ok so i got my bike put back together. And i had the outerframe drag pipes on with a stock swing arm! Wrong thing to do. It pulled up in 3rd and when it came down the flexed my suspension out and tire hit pipe broke pipe, and pipe broke cylinder! Bad fucking day. The pipe can be fixed no prob. But the cylinder not sure if it can be fixed?? It took the flange off in the pipe. Anybody ever heard of this happening? Quote
Bansh-eman Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 i have heard of the pipes being broke tha way but not ripping the flange off the motor with it. Quote
flyhighprerunner Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 I defitinly wanna see pictures of this! thats some crazy shit right there. I have never heard of it snapping the flange off. Quote

rubberneck Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 Gonna need to see some pics, but it is aluminum, and a competent welder should be able to put it back on as long as it isn't too wasted. Quote
dajogejr Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 X4.... I gotta see this carnage as well. I've heard of cracking the pipe, popping a spring off, etc....but never busting off the exhaust port on the cylinder... How low are your pipes to where you came down and it hit? They should be angled up a bit... When my buddy wadded ass on my bike on the ice, the pipe came off the cylinder exhaust, but nothing more...in fact, the springs were still holding the pipe against the motor... Quote

bbcmudtruck Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 Dam! so your suspension bottomed out and the pipes hit the ground? Quote
jrod Posted September 18, 2008 Author Report Posted September 18, 2008 yep it worked. Thanks.. No it came up on me i let the throttle off, it came down. The suspension went down and the pipe hit the rear tire. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 what rear shock was on the bike at the time? was it valved and sprung for the swinger and the rider weight? Quote
bbcmudtruck Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 Ahh, thats gotta be one for the "gotta see to believe" archives thats for sure. It looks like you could have it welded by a very qualified welder though. Good luck Ryan Quote
jrod Posted September 18, 2008 Author Report Posted September 18, 2008 the spring is the stock spring. With stock swinger. I have no clue on how it is adjusted. I need as much input as possible. On what arm to run. I bought a plus 8 but am worried about it might have bought 2 much. Quote
dajogejr Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 WOW....that's a first fo sho.....WOW Quote
