shee4speed Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 My valve has been on there for three days and all the sudden this morning its dripping.I am pretty sure its coming from the rubber gasket. anyone put gaket sealer or anything on there? I put the teflon on properly and tightened that all up. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 it's pretty common that they leak, come to think of it, i dont recall ever seeing one that didnt leak. Someone was saying they had good luck with the liquid thread sealer, but it sounds like yours isnt leaking at the threads? i put my rubber gaskets on and used a small bead of yamabond on both sides to seal it ... you can try that Quote
shee4speed Posted September 17, 2008 Author Report Posted September 17, 2008 apparently I tightened the screws to much.I loosened the screws and it stopped dripping. I will remove the valve and do the yamabond like you said.thanks. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 yea that rubber gasket is too thick, if you tighten the piss out of the screws it warps the gaskets and allows it to leak.. Make sure you put a little loctite on the screws so they dont fall out Quote
shee4speed Posted September 17, 2008 Author Report Posted September 17, 2008 I'll get on that as soon as I get home tonite. I wonder why they give you that big ass thick son of a bitch gasket. Quote
J-Madd Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 For the cost, a pingel is a POS. Its hard to believe that no body else makes a petcock. How hard could it be? If the pingel was $35, it would be acceptable, but $80+ is steep, but we all buy them anyway. Quote
