pr0blumz Posted August 31, 2008 Report Posted August 31, 2008 Sounds like a clogged pilot jet. Take your carbs apart and clean them. Quote
blue-banshee Posted August 31, 2008 Author Report Posted August 31, 2008 carbs are so clean u could eat off em or maby drink out of :yelrotflmao: Quote
SCEADU Posted August 31, 2008 Report Posted August 31, 2008 I am a little shy to admit this but it happened to me. Make sure you put the correct slide in the correct carb.the cut outs should be to the air box. If this seems obvious to anyone else just call me a moron and I apologize. Quote
blue-banshee Posted August 31, 2008 Author Report Posted August 31, 2008 what do you mean by cut outs? Quote
SCEADU Posted August 31, 2008 Report Posted August 31, 2008 If you look at the slides one side has like an upsidedown "U" on it for the lack of a better term. This side goes toward the airbox. The side that goes toward the cylinders is squared off. I emailed and called NYUK several times after he sold me my stock carbs and between us we could not figure out why I could not get her running right. NYUK automatically figured that I wasn't a moron and never thought to ask me the obvious. It wasn't until utter frustration that I pulled out the Clymer and read this little bit of info. and I thought to myself who could make that mistake. "YOURz TRULY" did. The obvious is often times overlooked. Quote
blue-banshee Posted August 31, 2008 Author Report Posted August 31, 2008 is there any easy way of checking this without pullin the carbs off? Quote
SCEADU Posted August 31, 2008 Report Posted August 31, 2008 Pull the seat off and unscrew the top of the carbs off and pull out the slides. You really only have to do one to see if it is in correct. did you install the jets in the carbs yourself? Quote
blue-banshee Posted August 31, 2008 Author Report Posted August 31, 2008 yes i did, the slides are right just checked it Quote
