  1. Hi guys, Im about to install a timing plate that I just ordered and was wondering, how will I know what degree I should set it at? Currently, I have T5 pipes and Wiseco pistons which are bored .30 over. But the rest of the engine is stock and runs really well now. I think I dont need to even install the plate, but Id like to get the benefit from it if possible. I have a rewound stator as well, but I think there should be no issues in that area. Is there a method to know exactly where to leave the timing plate set at? Thanks
  2. haha well, i drive on all surfaces, dirt, rocky, mud, pavement etc. so i need a strong 6-ply, but not a tire that weighs 20lbs a piece! i have the same ones thats on your bike
  3. Hi guys! I currently have front and rear 6-ply Bandit tires and MAN are they HEAVY!! like 20lbs EACH!! I was wondering, does anyone know the lightest or a couple of the lightest 6-ply rear tires in a 20X11X9 size? In the descriptions of tires, they usually dont mention the weight Also, are Fast Trekkers made anymore and were/are they made in 6-ply as well? Thanks!
  4. hi im wondering if i should put some sort of loc-tite on the timing plate bolts that go in the side casing? i mean, since i wont be touching that part of my bike after its assembled for a long time, would it help? im afraid the bolts might come loose down the road. kinda paranoid since its electrical parts its holding. you guys ever do that? thx
  5. sorry guys, i dont have a manual at the moment trying to find the year of this VIN any ideas? thanks JY43GGA02PA050952 not sure if the 0 is a zero or letter o think its a zero
  6. just wondering, how would it be harder to start?
  7. hi im in the market for a cdi and im not sure to get a stock or aftermarket. now, i can get used ones cheap, but there ones such as this one on ebay http://cgi.ebay.ca/1997-2006-Yamaha-Banshe...1QQcmdZViewItem which isnt the expensive adjustable ones, that claims to make your banshee go faster, 1000RPM more quicker with the rev limit and 8hp. would a cdi like this be anymore of an improvement than a stock one? thanks!
  8. hi guys im looking for a CDI for my 95 shee. now i know they changed the plug ends on the newer models, but i think its easy to change, so any year model of CDI is ok as long as it is in 100% working order, new or mint/excellent. oh, im in canada and would prefer the seller to be able to ship there as well. also looking for a timing plate either new or mint/excellent. i can pay with paypal as well thanks
  9. hi is there a big difference between these cdi boxes? one is a little more and says "rev". they say it reva 1000rpms faster. is it worth getting or just the stock normal one? http://cgi.ebay.ca/YAMAHA-Banshee-350-High...1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.ca/Yamaha-YFZ350-Banshee-H...1QQcmdZViewItem
  10. bump...........................
  11. my cdi went and i need one asap looking for a cheap one that runs and works 100% i can pay with paypal please pm or post or email me : [email protected] thanks
  12. i cant see it though. why would gears 4 5 and 6 run smooth?? each gear has to run thru the same rpms correct?
  13. by failing coil, do you mean the CDI box OR the iginition coil where the plug wires go on OR the stator? i think my friends did that a while back but it was the CDI
  14. hi i have a shee with toomey T5's and a fresh bore with 0.30 pistons. that is basically all of the mods on it. the motor is pretty much stock. now BEFORE and AFTER the bore and new pistons, i notice its really hard to start after its warmed up. like today for example. i started it first kick. its starts great when cold or not running for a while. i drove it around at various speeds for 10-15 minutes. now it wont start, even with 10 kicks!! what could it be? i have new plugs in it too, but they are probably soaked with gas/oil mix right now any thoughts?
  15. what exactly is the "heat cycle" ? normally, i just mix my oil 20:1 for the first tank and idle slow and take my time driving it and warming it up etc. does this heat cycle mean to rev it wide open until hot?
  16. well, that thread is basically about oil mixtures. i was hoping i could find the procedure on how far to rev etc. when breaking it in
  17. hi. my shee is bored over 0.30 over with Wiseco pro-lites and a new bore. the engine is basically stock except for the bore and pipes. what process should i use to break it in properly? are there some general rules i should follow? i mixed my gas pretty thick just to be safe thx
  18. opps! i mean 0.012 is the thickness of the BASE gasket NOT head. would it work just fine? im not if there is different thicknesses with base gaskets ????
  19. hi. i have stock head and cylinders except for a slight bore and the head shaved a little. i was wondering, does it matter the thickness of the head gasket? i was going to get a Vito's .012 gasket, but not sure if it matters or not?? thanks!
  20. for a good , one-step up, bore? i blew my shee up and i have to get it bored from 0.20 to 0.30 over. nothing serious. ordered some wisecos and just looking for a place to do it. i got a quote at one place, but i thought i'd ask on here what most of you guys pay for a normal straight foward bore and nothing else, except maybe the stock head shaved a little i'd like to see if the price i got was fair thx
  21. also guys, i need a head gasket too. im in canada, so if anyones willing to ship there it would be great! i can pay with paypal and as far as shipping, all it would be is as simple as throwing it in a brown envelope and sending through regualr USPS mail. i need 2 more base gaskets too! anyone got these for cheap let me know thanks
  22. hi guys. i thought i'd ask here first for base and a head gasket, since im doing a top end job i figured someone may have some laying around , unused of course, or got extra ones when ordering other things from companies. thanks!
  23. hi Tim. but on their website, it has a bunch of different Vito's. for example: PISTON KITS-FORGED SUPERSTOCK-USA or PISTON KITS-VITO'S FORGED SUPERSTOCK which one do mean? and whats the difference between the 2? one has "USA" at the end of the description thanks
  24. when you say most builders are using them, do you mean the Vito's or the Wiseco kit?
