  2. would pilots affect mid range?
  3. i never foul plugs, just sputtering before full throttle.i thought about a longer needle, but i've heard bad things about them from some guys on here. i might try lowering needle to 1st clip and see what happens.
  4. i havn't checked what size pilots i have, but the bike starts and idles fine.
  5. i thought the same thing, i checked for air leaks, sprayed wd40 while idleing couldn't find any leaks.i never did a plug chop before i installed the new air filters! but i expect it must of been on the lean side.
  6. i finally got a chance to do a plug chop, there was a 2mm light brown ring, not chocolate,is that right? i also lowered the needle to 2nd clip from blunt end. that helped the middle throttle a lot! but still some sputtering. should i lower needle to 1st clip? or buy new longer needle? thanks for help!
  7. i changed to a 400 main jet and did a WOT plug check, revs good and plugs are a light brown, maybe still alittle lean? but in the middle it seems too rich, hesitation and sputtering and then when it finally hits it revs good! do i need to lower the needle to 2nd clip? thanks for your help!
  8. im having some trouble getting my jetting right, i removed my air box and im using k n pod filters. ive went up several jet sizes from 300 to 370 and it still seems a little lean.1/4 to 1/2 throttle is getting a little rich. my question is do 400 main jets seem too big? needle is on 3rd position i was going to move it to 2nd from blunt end. does 400 seem to big for stock carbs? motor is ported with coolhead 18 domes 170 lbs compression t-5's i only ride at glamis elevatin 300ft
  9. all you need is adifferent throttle cable, and it hooks up the same way. its not a hard job at all.
  10. i have a 1999 banshee that i bought used 3yrs ago. it still runs great, but may have lost a little power over the years. im not sure what all mods have been done to it. it has t5 toomeys,k&n with lid removed, and port work. i checked the compression and have 140lbs. on both sides. i know thats pretty good but i dont know what i had to begin with,it has the stock head ,milled im assuming. im wondering if a new top end is in order? by the way my elevation is about 1500ft.
  11. is it worth the money to replace my t-5,s with t-6,s? i mostly ride at glamis, just wondering if anyone has made the swap?and if it really makes a difference.
  12. i already have ported cylinders, but im do for a new top end. if i have the cylinders bored do i have to have any port work done? thanks for your help!
