I stay away from ethanol, so it’s 91 e free and 32:1 with whatever oil I feel like mixing that day.

Is the original crank bad?

Are you using Viton for your o ring?

Antifreeze won’t make aluminum soft.
You sure the head was milled correctly?

You might want to figure out what your issue is before you just throw new jugs at it.
-
FAST has them new for $165 a piece

Check compression

Anyone know the size of the filter boot needed to fit on a 28? The ones that are specially for a 28 are twice the price of any other filter size.
-
That makes a lot more sense.

I’ve been messing around with banshee’s for a really long time now. When I took on this job it was a non- running banshee for 4+ years. I know that it’s not the carbs. I just recently ripped them both apart all way to an empty shell and ultra sonic cleaned them, the bowls and installed all new parts all the way down to the new floats. I did all the testing ( compression & leak down ) and everything was fine. From what I can see through my camera scope the top of the pistons have a average amount of carbon deposit on the top of them. I even checked and reset the pick up on the flywheel. It has a very fat blue spark. Wiring harness is in great condition for its age. Today I put on a different set of fmf pipes ( SST’s ) from another banshee I’m working on and it ran really good and then I put the fmf gold series back on and it ran rough. I know the jetting is different from pipe to pipe. The packing in the silencers look to be good condition. I also installed some boyesen super stock carbon fiber reeds and intake gaskets because the reed pedals that were on there were brittle. It has a fresh tank of 93 octane and casters 927 mixed 32:1. So as of right now I’m stumped over this. Anyone can chime in with there opinion on this issue.
Thanks
@DeetsI tried to talk him into a the exhaust system you have for sale and I even showed him what they looked like but he’s said no dice. He said fishing season is coming soon.
Ever get em cleaned out?

Right on fellas, that was my original thought as well. But that doesn’t mean much coming from a guy who has no experience with either.
-
So I originally was thinking 28 PWKs, Jessie from fast recommended 33’s. He didn’t think there would be much difference in fuel economy. What do you guys think?
-
He called me back, glad I talked to him. He got me straightened out on what to order. Lol
-
I sent one yesterday morning
-
So, the harness is taken care of. If I can get the guys at FAST to get back with me I’ll be in good shape
-
Quick response after I left him a message. He’s gunna build it tonight.

You took more off in this pic. I hope you throw it on a dyno to see what you ended up with.
It looks like more from that angle, both jugs are close to identical.
Never gave a dyno much thought, would be happy with a small gain. Fuel economy is still important to me, otherwise these jugs would look a lot different. -
Lol, Thanks

The jugs are back on, pipes should be here any day.
Tried to get in touch with the guys at F.A.S.T. today but no luck. Need a set of 28 PWK’s, throttle cable, and pod filters.

Did you inspect pistons for any slight burrs on edges?
Make sure all ports still have adequate bevel after plating?
Clean and lube everything good before assembly?
