I’ll never use Partzilla again. After 1 week of not receiving a shipping confirmation I emailed them and they responded the part will ship 8/24. On 8/24 I received an email stating the part will ship 9/20. I canceled the order. Immediately ordered from Rocky Mountain ATV on Tuesday and the part is out for delivery today.

Have you managed to remove the oxidation by now?
I did! I used 0000 steel wool and Mothers Mag polish. Came out looking brand new! I’d post a before and after but this site always says the pictures are too big.

I have a polished dogbone I purchased a couple years ago (from Vito’s I think) and never got around to installing it. Does these come ready to install or does it need to be repacked prior?
It looks to have a bushing installed on each side with grease. I’m not sure if there’s more to it. I have yet to remove the old one from the bike.

Ah. Good catch

For $215??
It's the OEM Stator without the backing plate right?

Rocky Mountain ATV has good price free shipping. Yamaha parts nation has better price no free shipping.
How's Partzilla?
They have it at $422.99 with free shipping

I pulled the flywheel and discovered I have an RM Stator. Might be the reason for some of the issues I'm having.
Who has the best price on an OEM Stator?

What's the best way to get rid of the oxidation and bring the shine back on a polished stator cover? Not sure if I should buy a harbor freight polishing kit, or something like mother's mag & aluminum polish?
I tried to attach a pic but it says the file is too big.

JL egineering makes a $170 kit with a battery and mount. I had two batteries ruined so far with 2-4 hours of run time. I assume it's something wrong on my end. However, i will leave it as is without the battery and it will be fine. I got the DC conversion because i got tired of blowing LED's. I have not blown an LED since.
Just ordered it

Have you considered the DC conversion so you can run a good LED light?
Who makes the best (complete) DC conversion kit?

Just run a hose from the cap and angle it down like stock. The tiny breather has a ball to act as a check valve and as oil and dirt mix in the check valve area, it gets plugged. This creates a vacuum in the tank leading to your carburetor bowls running dry, leading to a stuck piston.
It's happened enough that it is ingrained into everyone to point out how bad those are.
Gotcha

Your tank need to "breathe", it need a hole somewhere, wich is your little cap.

Isn't that accomplishing the same thing as the short breather?

the gas cap vent line.
Won't the tank create a vacuum?

Sorry guys, meant front brake caliper.

Mine seized up. Any suggestions where to pick one up online (in stock)?

So you think they’re definitely running on AC from what you see?
Ill have to get a meter.

I didn’t choke. Bike felt completely dead until some fuel started getting in the cylinders. I was opening the throttle a bit which I probably shouldn’t do.
Thr previous owner said the motor is brand new....less than 5 hours on it. I’m wondering if I should get a compression tester though.
You think the wire harness might be bad?
Timing
in Banshee Repairs and Mods

Can someone explain to me how timing is adjusted on Banshee?
I know rotating the plate clockwise advances timing and rotating counterclockwise retards timing. Why exactly does the rotation advance/retard timing?
Is it the rotation of the Stator? The rotation of the pickup on the flywheel? Something other?
