All I was saying is I'm trying to learn about individual components so I can have an intelligent conversation with a couple of builders. That's all. Obviously who builds the motor will source and suggest components. Not all builders have the same ideas. I don't buy parts off of eBay nor does my schedule of mechanical skills allow me to assemble a motor myself. A lot of negativity on here... looking forward to the final product. I have come across some threads on this but all are several years old... What are the Pro's and cons of these? Appears Matton is the only one making them. Did you have a bad experience with their porting? I wanted to use a race shop that could do everything in house. I am planning on them doing my chassis/suspension work as well. They must be doing something right if they have been around as long as they have. If I was doing a "magazine" build I would be building a YZF450... I do appreciate the input tho. So this is where I am with my parts list so far... Motor is at Duncan Racing for a complete tear down. Most likely doing a modified National Kit running race gas. I know they are going to suggest their pipes which are crazy expensive... not sure what I'm going to do about that. Suspension: Roll Designs +2/+1 long travel A-Arms Elka Stage 5's front/rear Elka Rear Link Chassis: Roll Designs +1 Stem YZF450 front brakes Galfer Rotors & Lines Undecided: Wheels... Hiper or DWT?
