  1. Thanks. This is easy stuff now. Glad slide direction was finally mentioned. So happy that was the problem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Yes sir, that's my plan for tomorrow, at least now I know everything should go easier Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Yep, that was the problem, the previous owner had the slides in the wrong carbs and they were backwards, swap sides with those and now it's crisp and is to lean on the bottom and, it has a stumble from Idle, i'm assuming from it being too mean, I will tinker more with it tomorrow Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  5. Ill know in an hour or so, wish someone mentioned it a long time ago, haha. I didnt even think about it, I was more concerned with keeping the parts as they were when I got it.
  6. Thanks, Ill see about that too, not sure if Im going back to an airbox, I have one I got with it, so Im considering it.
  7. Here is what it looks like now. Tors are gone, but like I said, I left the stuff on each sides as I got it, so it was wrong when I got it. Thats why they couldnt get it figured out I bet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. as stated, thats how I bought the quad, the TORS are gone now, but I kept the slides on the sides as they were when I got it, but it does seem to me that the cutout is forward and not back.... shall we take bets?
  9. Im going to bet money they are backwards, it makes total sense, cant wait to get out of work to check it
  10. thought from another thread, would it do this if the slides were backwards? It has me thinking... Ive always kept everything on the side I got it on, but maybe thats why the previous owner had issue, Im almost betting the cutaway is towards the motor right now......
  11. Here is the day I got it home before removing tors. Does it look wrong? Not knowing better, this is how it went back together... http://vimeo.com/167337883 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. You have me thinking, I got it with problems, so I dont know whats normal, but what you say about the slide cut out, what would it do if the slides were in backwards or on the wrong sides? I need to go check it after work now, but Im almost betting they are backwards, if possible, because thats how I got it and how Ive left it......... I know for sure I didnt mix parts up on the carbs, but the slides being backwards is making me wonder, Ill try to find out in a few hours.. Thanks!
  13. I pulled the choke assembly out, it was clean and looked fine
  14. pro circuit pipes and silencers, stock carbs, K&N filters on the carbs, reed spacers? Im assuming stock reeds and needles, working the bugs out of a new to me '01 banshee. When I got it, it was so rich I couldnt get it to get on the pipe, so Im looking at similar combos and similar altitudes. Its in the 60's here now.. I got it with 280 jets, 25 pilots, I got the top end rich but usable with the clip at the far blunt end of the needle, Ive since put a 270 jet in, with the clip one notch lean from center, and a 27.5 pilot as per some other recommendations. But bottom end is still too fat and loads up with idling. I put the 25 back in but have not ran it yet. 32 or 40:1 fuel mix
  15. chasing tuning issues, looking for a stock set of needles for stock carbs for my '01 banshee. Thanks
  16. Are these spacers? Maybe I need to throw them in the garbage? And the reeds Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Dont think so, if I pull it out half way, or all the way it seems to choke
  18. I looked a little for info on the float level, but must not be typing in the right terms.. Ill take the carbs off again and look for that jet tube, will that make it run rich at idle?
  19. Ok, Ill look into that stuff, after idling a bit, you get rolling and be 1/4-1/3 throttle and hold it, you can feel when it cleans up and is happy again, it rips!
  20. I do, what should I ohm? Tested the stator and it checks out fine. It was too rich on the 25 pilot, so I figured Id have the same issue on the 27.5, I may try the 25's back in with the 270 mains, might fix the rich bottom end. Or Ill just leave it, when riding and above idle its fine, it just loads up if its at idle for any period of time
  21. Floats are fine. I think it's cause they are wet that they look odd? I put the 27.5 pilot and 270 mains in. Still can't get idle right, had to go to the second notch from the blunt end of the needle. If you sit and idle it loads up. I'm 2 or 2.5 turns out on the idle mix screws. Comparing the old pilots, it's hard to tell, I couldn't tell much difference by looking at them, didn't spend much time on them. At least now I know what I have. Top end is good. Still smokes at wot, so I'm not too rich. I fouled one plug and had to change it with too much idling. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. New jets and pilots in. Test hits after work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Just removing the TORS from mine, made a world of difference, that should be the first mod to any banshee!
  24. Ok, I got some 27.5 pilots coming, even though its too rich at the bottom, Ill try it for the sake of trying it I guess. I tried leaning out the adjustment screws, but cant get it to not load up at idle. I also have a set of 270 mains coming, maybe getting the needles closer to center will help in other areas?
  25. HAHA! Maybe they did, either way its running rich, Ill tinker after work today, just need to get more in at idle and Im good to ride
