  1. little late for that! Shits in the mail as they say. I had already spoken to Sleeper about doing my port work and top end boring etc before i decided to do the Pro-Mod tranny. He does pro-mods but wouldnt be able to knock mine out in the same time frame as the port work so i just sent it to the place that could turn it around the fastest (FAST in this scenario). Its all good, im just excited to rip around on this thing with more power and easier shifting
  2. just got back from the post office; Tranny headed for FAST for the pro-mod, top end and top case headed for Sleeper for port work/boring/new pistons etc. Ordered 400 bucks worth of random stuff from FAST this morning. Still have a trip to the local hardware store to source a few dozen specific nuts/bolts/washers, and build a leak down tester. Ended up having to swing by the local bike shop yesterday afternoon to have them pop the flywheel off for me since i lost my damned puller. I was up until 1am last night splitting the cases dicking around in the garage. I had to throw the motor and tools in my car to drive up the street to a parking lot, no way i was going to let my cordless impact hammer on that clutch nut at 10pm and risk waking my twins up. Wife would not be ok with that. Going to get with my buddy that works at a local machine shop to see if he can mill the shift drum down to accept the bearing, i found a part number in this thread (http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?/topic/165176-what-size-bearing-4-shift-drum-mod/) for the bearing and might try to get my buddy to turn the drum down and press it on. FAST wanted like $50 to do the Drum bearing mod so im trying to figure out if its worth pursuing or even doing on my own at this stage. Was debating on the roller detent mod, still on the fence about it. Will see if i can source a little bearing and bolt when i hit the parts store for nuts and bolts
  3. Fine fine fine
  4. thanks man i'll check him out! I called FAST and Cody said they'd probably charge about $50 for the drum mod on top of the 200 for the pro-mod. Depending on what Molinari wants i may just throw everything in a box for FAST tomorrow and call it a day. thanks for the suggestion
  5. well i cant find shit about the shift drum bearing mod after searching around, doesnt look as common as i thought it was. Only thing that seemed to pop up about doing the mod was a thread on here discussing the tolerances to machine the drum shaft to and what bearing part number to use. sooooooo im probably not searching right or this actually isnt a real widely used mod? only thread i found about this mod. http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?/topic/165176-what-size-bearing-4-shift-drum-mod/ guess i will contact some vendors to see if i cant find someone to cut my drum for this. Redline hasnt called or emailed me back yet about doing my pro-mod, guessing they are probably swamped right now.
  6. im not real sure if you're being a dick or what. I tore my bike apart sunday night and have the motor split right now. i am sending the tranny off to have the pro mod done, probably by FAST. They also do the shift start mod, mod the shift shaft too. I am modifying the Detent arm with a roller bearing on my own. Already have the pancake bearing. A new detent arm spring and some other basic wear items are on my list to order tomorrow along with the rest of the motor rebuild items. I want to find someone to modify the shift drum since its not on the FAST package for their $200 pro-mod, but as it is am doing every fucking thing i can think of while i have it apart. The bike should make over 60hp with the new top end and port work thats being done, i want to make sure i can shift this thing after i finish assembly and clutch tuning. Thanks for the help?
  7. ya i totally understand the rest of the items at this stage, i was more so just looking for input on the shift drum bearing mod since it doesnt look to be something i've seen other people besides redline offer in their pro-mod package. I appreciate you spelling everything out in both of your posts though, i feel like i've learned a bunch just since i made this thread asking about the shifting issues this last week. Thanks man!
  8. any input on the shift drum roller bearing mod? redline offers it in their pro-mod tranny package but FAST doesnt. I still havent heard back from REDLINE about the turn around time so i will probably send my tranny to FAST to do the pro-mod, i just had hoped to do the roller bearing drum mod since it was apart considering people say its a great mod to ad to the list. my goal is to make the tranny shift smooth whether i make 35hp or 90hp, i think im doing every possible mod to make it a happy dune/trail trail tranny
  9. Thanks for the suggestions earlier, i am doing a pro-mod and having the other items i mentioned done along with it. One of the shops offering the pro-mod tranny doesnt include a bearing on the shift drum, is that going to be very noticeable when you consider the other things i am doing to the tranny already? so far on my list for tranny mods: Create a roller bearing detent arm, notch the shift shaft window, pro-mod tranny with the shift star modified, and new eccentric screw with lock nut. Is a roller bearing on the shift drum going to be noticed if i skip it?
  10. The wires reached just fine I literally just drilled a hole in the fender and used the lock nut on the key assembly to mount it.
  11. I was under the impression that this item from Mull was the entire pierce pictured for $50, not just the bearing and a bolt. I will go source a bearing and good bolt with locking threads if this is a simple mod though!
  12. do you think the roller bearing detent arm mod is really worth while, or do you have experience with them? I was wondering since FAST doesnt offer it in their package but its part of the REDLINE one. These arms are 50 and 70 bucks, seems like they'd offer some improvement over stock?
  13. messeged CAMatv earlier, waiting for him to get back with me. Thanks for the suggestions!
  14. Hows that? Drill a hole in the stock arm and bolt a bearing to it like the Mull Engineering one?
  15. just spoke with Cody, basically they dont offer the roller detent arm or the shift drum mod like redline does. Same $200 price though. Not real sure about all that, going to hit up CamATV and see who else is out there and the prices for what you get
  16. i was just looking at their package, they dont include the shifter drum roller bearing mod and also dont offer the roller bearing detent arm if i read the page right. Going to give them a ring to chat now.
  17. yep, i talked to him about it and basically he'd have trouble getting it done quickly with the work he has on his plate. I am checking around right now, i was hoping to get this tranny done by the first of the year so i can get the bike back together for some shake downs and tuning, i hate rushing through a project before a ride shit never turns out good in that scenario. Redline hasnt gotten back to me yet about a time frame but given the package and price they offer i was hoping to send it to them. Do you guys have any places specifically you'd recommend i check with?
  18. Gearing up for another trip to Glamis in February. Started looking at the bike and thinking about what it was lacking back in spring when we were there last time. So far on the list im thinking about more power, wider rear end, sending the tranny off for some massaging, better head lights, and a few other items. Sending the top end off to Sleeper for his port work. I tore the bike down last night with the help of my good friend Tito’s. Trying to figure out where I can the tranny for the pro-mod, I reached out to Redline already to see what their turn around time is like. My goal is to find a reputable place to do this work that can turn it around in a month or less. Ordered one of the LED light bar kits from JDS customs. Doing some shopping for wider axles now. I need to get all the gaskets etc ordered for the bottom end too. I couldn’t find my damn flywheel puller last night so I only got as far as pulling the top end
  19. Sorry the bikes not for sale anymore I'm going to hang on to her. Thanks for the interest Optimus prim
  20. Hahaha thanks for the offer man! Actually talked to sleeper yesterday morning and am planning to shoot my top end off to him for port work! Dude seems like he has a general idea about this whole porting situation lol. I'd have jumped on your offer if I didn't already commit to having mine done though
  21. I keep my shifter angled up a little more than normal riders since i dont ride without boots. I will make sure the eccentric screw in properly adjusted when i reassemble everything. thanks for the input! noted, i will make sure to ad those items to my list of parts
  22. im pulling the motor this weekend to send the top end off to Sleeper, guess i will split the cases and do a pro-mod tranny. already reached out to RedLine to see what their turn around time is like and what specifically needs to be sent to them so i dont leave anything out.
  23. thanks for the input. Ive watched a video on it and done some reading, seems the general theory is just taking about 1mm off each point except the 6th-1st gear point. Is it really that hard to take some material off on a bench grinder and smooth it out with some fine grit sand paper? Ill leave the soft spring off the list! I will see about grabbing one of the detent roller arms then too. I dont want to start messing with the tranny beyond this, having gears cut etc is a little more than i want to do at this stage. Thanks for the advice!
  24. my bike hates shifting under spirited riding so i started reading around BHQ for fixes and wanted to ask the group your thoughts. Bike is an 06 with all the usual bolt on mods about to get the magic touch from Sleeper06 along with some new pistons, so im looking at more power with the stock tranny. Options i am considering: 1) mod the shift star myself which seems easy enough. Will do this regardless of the other options i pursue below 2) window out the shift shaft as seen in the pic i stole from one of Savege420's posts. I understand this is worthwhile and seems like an easy thing to ad to my list. 3) 'easy' shift spring sold by a few places including FAST. i've seen posts on here suggesting to keep the stock spring over this one though. Bad idea to run one of these softer springs? 4) one of those roller bearing arms found in the Mull Engineering and Shift-Pro kits that sits against the shift star. seems pricey ($46 from mull engineering or $70 for the shift pro) for this small piece, not sure if its worth the extra cash. Keep in mind i already have the pancake bearing mod and the bike isnt a real high hours abused machine. What items above do i really need to do/buy given my bikes probably only going to be a 60-70hp machine at the max
  25. thanks for all the feedback and posts guys. I'll dig out some pics later lol basically im looking to squeeze some more usable power out of this motor without dumping another couple grand in the bike. The idea of a $400 4mil crank and some minor related parts to support it on the stock unported jugs was my initial goal. We are buying a house in early 2017 so with xmas and kids my budget is tight. I'd love to go all crazy with this but this time around im trying to keep things reasonable lol
