Thanks for the info. Im pretty positive the preowner saying he had some porting done. But been a long time ago. I know it looked like there had been some grinding done in them. But dont have them atm. At shop. Plan on asking them what it looks like has been done to them. But im sure ill do the wisecos or wsm. Still reading on things. Want to get the best shit for setup and quality. So i guess vitos full of shit about his claim of 8hp? Guess theres no dyno results to back it up?

Banshee won't start... missing tube between carburators?
dirtmunkee replied to james222's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
First off you need to stop "doing your banshee". It probably doesnt like that. May have packed the muffler to tight:). Im sorry i just had to say it. (Proofread then click post).lol but as far as your problem im at a loss on that one. Id like to see what the cause is. Good luck with it. -
Thanks will check out the wsm and see what they are all about.

Thats probably what ill end up with. And seeing some people had issues with the vitos superstock.Just curious whaf are you bored out to? I liked the way it ran as it was set up. Cant remember wheather vitos said they took from the bottom end and gave more on top or vice/versa.

Need to buy pistons and just looking for advice on what to get. Had vitos superstock pistons before which talking with him said they are cut to change port timing and adds about 8hp. And hes like 4 months out on being able to have any for sale. My cylinders are having to be bored to 65.5 to clean up and have had port work done by previous owner. I know thats pushing the max but would like to just keep them for now. Dont want to spend a bunch atm (eventually want to invest a lot in a nice build but just like to get it back on the trail right now). Are there any out there that are cut and comparable to what the superstock do. So far im seeing to just go with overbore stock cut wisecos.

Damn guess someone would have gave some sort of response. But i dont see it being the cases if the crank bearings sit good and tight in the case. Sounds to me like the flywheel is not on perfectly centered or out of whack and causing a slight vibration. From what i have read and understand if the shaft key isnt in just right it can cause flywheel not to seat right. Or maybe crank seal isnt sealing well and not keeping bearing lubed well. Just some thoughts.

Dont know if you got it yet or if this is any help. But i had the same thing happen like 20 years ago on an old one i had. (Young and stupid sure it was my own fault:).)Mine may not have been welded as bad. And youve probably already tried the hell out of it. But i know it took awhile of lightly tapping acutator back and forth and tapping in on end of rod at clutch and it finally broke loose and luckily didnt leave any material on the end of rod at acutator so it slid right out. But that sucks if you have to split it open for that. Best of luck with it.

help/info rebuilding 87 banshee
dirtmunkee replied to dirtmunkee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Hello to everyone thats helped with info. But i had started another thread "stock or stroke crank" . But cylinders are cleaning up at 65.5. Getting things figured out. Was kinda babbling out a lot of questions on this thread. Updated info on new one thanks. -
thanks will check that out.

im off mt carmel tobasco by smyth. But got pictures of crank. But i guess i have to figure out how to compress file. To large of file size. Only have tablet at the moment. Damn kid locked up my computer. To much malicious porn downloads:). But i dont need it and now he has no computer....teach him.. lol. But anyway will figure out to load pics. But with a straight edge across crank directly under bottom of rod and a(cheap ass mm guage )standing up from bottom off rod. Then measuring with a good digital to that mark gives me right at 2 mm before rod is flush with outer diameter of crank.

Thanks for info. I will post some good pics when I get home later on about 7 est. or so. It is welded. Rods have to be 110. Setting caliper at 115 is obviously longer than center to center. Big end just looks like it is as close to outer diameter of crank as possible but thinking about it more it may have room to push it out that extra 2mm. As for my pistons I contacted vitos and confirmed they are(or were in the case of the one)his super stock and he was like 4 months out on being able to get any. He rambled on so fast was hard to take info in . Said I could just run stock wisecos but would be losing about 8hp. That sucks. But cylinders have to go to 65.5 to clean up. And not looking to spend a fortune at the moment. Guess ill just go this route to get it back on the dirt and research more then build the shit out of it when time/money allows. Any thoughts/advice appreciated.

thats what im guessing is stock. Just wondering cause some people saying hot rods only makes 115mm +4 stroke some say they make 110mm +4 stroke. But i guess that if it was just stock length and +4 the piston pin would only have to be 2 higher to meet deck which ive not heard of. Think im just going to get old piston out to them to match up for sure. But thanks for help. And zilla i see you are right here in amelia. Im right down the road in eastgate. So just wondering if you know of any good local places to ride besides haspin acres. Gonna be ready to take it out somewhere. Itching to get it out. Been a long time

yes they want the pistons. I know all about the spacer, cut domes, blaster piston, etc. Has no spacer or cuts. Old piston is a 393 on bottom of pin opening wiseco believed to be power pistons from vitos from the reciepts i have for it. Just want to make sure it doesnt have the higher pin height to make up for stroke which a measurement from piston top to pin should tell me. Google cant find that measurement for shit. Cases are split and tore apart to make sure all is ok and cleaned up. So no easy way to rotate and measure without setting crank up in something. Thanks for any help.
