  1. I mean crap if anyone has any on hand I'll be glad to pay fees and what not to overnight it to David Allan or if it's on my way up from Chicago I can swing by and grab it!! In s bind now and I'd hate for this kid to have a bad time or not ride cause of that.
  2. So I called David Allan and no luck on this damn idle screw. Kinda sucks!!
  3. Yeah I was thinking the same thing cause I know they're right next door to parking lot for dunes but I wanna have a back up plan juuuust in case.
  4. Hello fellas, Here's the issue in a nut shell, my nephew (18 year old) decided that his bike wasn't idling correctly so instead of wiaiting on me to come take care of it for him he decided he could take care of it himself, well the kid didn't tighten down the set screw on the idle screw and it backed out and it's missing in action now. Big problem is that we are loaded up and headed out to silver lake in a few hours and have no way of locating a new idle screw. Is there any way I can make a idle screw to replace missing one or can any one point me in the right direction with this. As always thanks a ton!!!
  5. For the quad you need: ORV sticker Forgot the name of other sticker but also sold with orv both sold on site. Spark arrestor for exhausts (they check this upon entrance) 10' pole with flag (sold pretty much any store in area) They say decibel needs to be below certain level but I've never had them check me or my pals Sand paddles, you can ride knobbies but it sucks for traction. For vehicle: if you are planning to ride truck in dunes you will need same stickers and flag as quad (dune ready) which is a better bet cause you can load bike on truck and go in if not you will have to get a parking pass that they issue out the night before and let me tell you it is not fun getting one. Can't drink in the dunes but at campsite is ok, I wouldn't recommend riding drunk anyways there are way to many vehicles out there and you need to stay alert.
  6. Anyone else going to Silver Lake this weekend?? We are coming up from Chicago with 5-6 bikes just wondering if anyone else is gonna be there. I know it's gonna be an ass packed weekend with bikes and what not but we got a little wiser this year and actually were able to reserve a camping spot at the park. Let me know and feel free to stop by, bringing the smoker and all so it should be fun. If I'm not mistaken we are gonna be in lot 218 or so!! See ya there
  7. If you hold the elkas till Friday I'll gladly take them off your hands!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Ok so I didn't wanna spend over $100 on some spark arrestors so I decided to try and make my own with some great results!! By the way I did them on my toomey silencers and my buddy's fmf silencers with the same results. Here's how I did it!! 1st: I took apart my toomey t5 silencers apart via the snap ring and 2 Allen bolts on back I believe they were 5mm.. 2nd: I pulled out the baffle from inside the silencer which came off with the exhaust tip. 3: I removed the tip from the baffle with an adjustable wrench and a mallet. I opened the adjustable wrench just enough to go around the baffle and sit on silencer tip than gave the adjustable a good whack with the rubber mallet and the tip came off 4: Once the baffle was removed I used the bench grinder with a smoother grinding stone to grind down the tip of the baffle that was in the tip of the silencer enough to take a little material off but not enough to mess with the structure of the baffle.. 5: I used a die grinder with a sanding stone to hone out the tip of the silencer where the baffle went into, just shaved off a little to make a little wiggle room so I can install sparky later!! 6: I used a regular spark arrestor I found on the Internet x2 obviously for both silencers and inserted the small end in the baffle and cut to have maybe a 1/2 inch or a bit extra to overlap onto baffle, this goes on the end you grinded down earlier like so 7: So the extra material that was left sticking out of the baffle from sparky needs to be bent down and overlapped on baffle like so. 8: I used a needle nose plier to really pinch the sparky onto the baffle so now you see why grinding was needed earlier on baffle and tip. Cause you are adding extra material with the sparky overlapping on baffle. 9: I used the rubber mallet and hit the silencer tip back onto baffle on the newly fabbed sparky side and it shouldn't take much to do but it should be snug if not going in you may need to hone out the tip a little more 10: Finally you can repack your baffle with new material if you would like which I did since I already had it apart so why not!! Ta daaaa!! Lemme know if it helps and don't mind my airplane in the background!! I was at work! I'm using tapatalk to post so I hope this works!! Happy wrenching amigos!! 9. Thanks man I appreciate the help!! I just ordered a new chain a 13t front sprocket and 2 rear sprockets 41/42. I'll see how it goes and even post a pic of my buddy's "sad face"!!!!!
  10. That simple huh? I was thinking it was like the sportbike realm with -1 up front and +2 in back but if that's all it takes than that's what I'll order. Just gonna go ahead and order the chain and both sprockets. So 13/41 with 104 link chain correct? Thanks again zilla
  11. Ok so I'm leaving for silver lake on Friday so this is kind of a pressing topic so I can go ahead and order my stuff!! Mods on bike are: v force 4 reeds, foam filter, toomey t5 exhaust, cool head w/21cc domes. Motor is pretty much stock and I'm pushin 200lbs and paddles are I believe 21". Stock carbs jetted at 300main and 27.5 pilots. Anywho a buddy pretty much copied me with absolutely everything so he and I are pretty neck and neck when it comes to racing only way either of us will pull on each other is rider error. But my question is what can I do as far as my sprockets to get more acceleration? Like i don't think I'll be winding her out all the way so I wanna be able to launch good at silver lake!! Any info to give me a leg up on this guy would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks again fellas
  12. Uh oh what do you mean by having my truck dune ready?? I'm gonna be haulin 3 bikes!!
  13. Ok so a couple of guys and I are gonna be going to Silver Lake for Labor Day weekend.. I ordered my Ohv sticker online earlier this week and so did everyone else, total of about 7 of us going out. I have also re packed my t5 silencers and installed the sparkys. Got my paddles with me but not on the bike yet. Got my flag still on bike from previous badlands visit and measures the required 10ft. We are planning on heading out about 3pm Friday afternoon and we are about 4 hours out from silver lake, but I would like to know what I may need to look out for.Any heads up or info would be greatly appreciated, is anyone else going out there for Labor Day??
  14. Oh and in case your wondering the thread is M8x1.25. If you have an Ace hardware local to you they stock the acorn nuts that you can use for the head just to spruce it up a little. Stainless with copper washers and the 2 front studs will require longer acorns but Ace sells depper ones in chrome that will accommodate the 2 front studs. M8x1.25
  15. Yeah what ^^^ said.. Just put 2 on this past week and studs will not fit.. Also remember that the two front studs by exhaust side are longer than the rest. If I were you when you remove studs you should heat the piss out of each one before you remove them. I went 20 for 20 with that method!! Some ratcheting wrenches go a long way too! Just my 2 cents though
  16. I have toomy t5 exhaust, uni foam filters, cool head w/21cc domes, v-force 4 reeds and simple tors delete also have the pancake bearings. No porting or anything like that yet! Thanks again
  17. Seriously?? Will that work? I rode it around with some overflow tubes attached to the bowls and had them up high over the carbs, came back and took them off and it stopped leaking out of both carbs!!! Pretty cooky stuff!! But now it's good and man she's alive! Compression is great and I can't be happier, I will be going to Badlands in Sunday to see what she can do with the improvements. Will my 27.5 pilots and 300 mains be good for my setup and how will I know? I hate being new to this I feel helpless!
  18. Ok so I know that I have to check my floats inside the bowl. Buuut it's very very odd as to why both carbs leak now. I changed my head last night FINALLY!! Studs were a breeze to remove with a little help from my map has torch, I installed everything took everyone's advice and installed it properly. Leak down passed with flying colors, 6psi for 2 beers and no pressure drop!! So install went as planned. Than I put it all back together and get her started than my carbs start spewing out fuel! Like I didn't take carbs apart since I had just cleaned them and they weren't leaking before I changed head. Why would they leak like crazy now, like both of them?? Thanks again amigos, oh by the way it's my bday today so I accept banshee parts as gifts!!!
  19. Like close up the gap on the plug?? That's kinda what I understood from that question, if I'm getting the question wrong please explain. But plug looked normal, black as shit but gap looked normal but I can check after work tomorrow..
  20. Yeah major pitting on the ugly head. Right dome a lot more than the left too. Can he get the 4 mil crank on a stock setup?
  21. Yeah to be honest bike has never been right since the day he got it.. He got his a week after I got mine and I think he jumped the gun, he fell for the flashy paint, stickers and shiny wheels!! I didn't know nearly as much as I know now about them but he still got it and we'll now it needs help. Freakin carb slides were on backwards when it was bought, was running 200 main jets with 27.5 pilots. Like bike ran like shit, I finally corrected it well the best I could to my knowledge and it ran great the next time we were out. But when I seen him pull his head I knew something wasn't right. Me being a friend I told him hey you know what pull my head off since I got the cool head in and take mine. Well when it came off my bike it looked new compared to his!! Gonna have to break his heart and wallet tonight. But as far as my head that looks as normal as it can get right??
  22. Check this out, me and my buddy took our heads off. The clean one is mine (top) and other is his. Mind me this is the quad that we changed impeller on and it stopped running right (bottom head)!! What's up with that?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. It's the whole kit and caboodle!! O-rings and studs in there too.. Crap I just checked and they are missing something, the freakin beer!!!! Thanks man I almost botched the whole job!!
  24. Ok so I'm gonna dig into my banshee today after work and install the cool head. Besides doing a leak down when I'm done what do I look out for? It's a pro design "elite" cool head with 21cc domes. I think elite model is just a fancy way of saying black cause that's the only thing that seemed different to me. But I thought I would ask you guys on here since you guys are pretty well versed when it comes down to the nitty gritty!! Thanks as always
  25. Dammit i just seen message for shocks!! Thanks anyway man
