  1. When the jugs hit the end, can they be resleeved or do they have to be replaced?
  2. I tried to post some pics of crank and discoloration of rod but they wouldn't load. Other than the rod, everything else looks brand new. Thanks for all the questions and answers. I'm new to this stuff and trying to learn as much as possible, bhq has been very helpful. Thanks.
  3. What about that 80 over comment? Is that as far as they can go before they need replaced? I got a very good deal on the bike and John is giving me a good deal on the work being done.
  4. I haven't asked jsr for hp estimate yet. Because the carbs are so far out of wack they're checking a bunch of stuff before they start the rest of work. I was hoping for around 70hp.
  5. The shop is Jsr in Wichita. If I only asked the shop doing work, how would I know if I'm getting the whole truth. I believe John is honest and does good work but I also believe that it is a good idea to get more than one opinion.
  6. This is an extra that came with a Shee that I picked up. Was maybe looking to have rebuilt to resale. If rebuild is cheap enough.
  7. I just picked up a 2000 Shee with a vitos 4mil crank with spacer plate, vitos ported.080 over pistons, pro desigh cool head and intake, stock carbs, Toomey t5's, k&n pods, boysen reeds, stock cages, no porting, no port match. Carbs are out of sync and netting is way off. I put it in the shop today and am having trail/play port, port match, carbs synced and dyno tuned. What kind of dyno numbers should I expect?
  8. I have a vitos 4mil crank that had a few rides on before a fuel line came off, cylender ran dry, rod bearing locked up. Everything else moves free and easy. I got hot enough to discolor lower part of rod. My questions are can it be rebuilt? How much should it cost? Where to go. Is the rod still good?
  9. WOW some people are a little sensitive. about the air screw. still a little new here but I believe it to be an idle screw and was told to watch and see when it comes in contact with slide, to go 1 &1/2 turns more so that's what I told him. what he actually did i'm not sure.
  10. i wasn't asking how to tell if his cylinder was toast or not, i was asking if running his bike like that could burn it up?
  11. last time out riding my friends bike started running funny, then died. he looked and his idle screw came out. he said he was able to get it started but had crazy power and would only run full on or not at all, said it was the scariest ride ever. he made it back to camp and loaded up. after getting home he replaced the screw but now it won't run right and will not idle at all. any thoughts??
  12. I will get one as soon as I can. thanks
  13. it's crazy how strong and different everyone's opinions are. I have to work with what I got for a while no matter what. maybe by the time I can afford a new set up, I will have figured this one out. but still, any advise on jet sizes? new pipes are on and is running a lot better but still running rich(a lot of smoke) mostly on top. still don't know what needle I have but the clip is 1 up from the middle.(dropping the needle) I was wrong when I said I had a 50 pilot, its a 45.
  14. Where would markings be on needle?
  15. if there is no markings on the needle, is there another way to tell what kind I have?
  16. the needle has no markings that I could find
  17. not sure what kind of needle it has but it is on it but it is on the middle clip. since I bought the bike with this set up , I have read a lot of mixed reviews. some hate, some love it but nothing in between. but the constant thing I have read is that trinity is the worst 2 into 1 set up out there. I want to go back with duel carbs but I have to work with this for a bit.($$$)
  18. I just bought a 97 alba edition, newer top end, no port work, open air filter, trinity stage 4 2 into 1 carb with pkw keihen 35mm -52 pilot and 155 main and fmf fatty pipes with a dent in left side. I got it cheap because it was running super rich and the kid had no idea what he had. it had been running so rich for so long the inside of the silencers had almost 3/16" build up on the tube. (took over an hr to clean) I packed the silencer, flushed fuel tank, new spark plugs, checked reeds, changed pilot to a 50 and main to a 150,and ordered new set of fatties(not in yet) it is now running better but still not right. I know the dent in the pipe will make a big difference. I'm wondering what is a good staring point on jets to start with when my pipes come in? any advice is appreciated.
  19. 2 into 1 jetting ?s
