  1. My banshee finally started. I built a new harness and it works great. When I get time I'm going to post everything I did and how I made the new harness. I learned a lot and hopefully I can help someone else out. I appreciate everyone that commented and gave me suggestions. So I'll post later, Right now I'm putting everything back together so I can go ride today.

  6. I bought some ngk plugs for my banshee and they tested at 16000ohms. Wayne you should check how much voltage you have from your stator. Use a multimeter to test voltage on green wire coming from your stator. I doubt your frying your cdi somehow. Did your friend let you try his cdi on your bike. I hope you get it fixed I'm in the same boat im just not getting spark to transfer to my ignition coil. My cdi does give out a signal on the orange wire just not when the harness is connected. Good luck I will let you know if I get my bike running and what i did, do the same for me if you get yours going. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
  7. Still not getting spark. Using a cheap test light. Lights up on orange wire from cdi when I kick it over and when the harness is connected it doesn't light up on the orange wire. Tried jumping terminals on the kill a key switch and still no luck.
  8. I'm thinking kill switch or key switch one is causing this. Which I've read other posts saying they went through hell trying to get spark at it ended up being kill switch. Actually I hope that's the problem just want to get this thing running. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
  9. Correct me if I'm wrong but can I connect the black/red wire from cdi to ground wire and the black/white to new on/off switch then ground the switch, connect black ground wire to - on coil and orange wire to + on coil. Should get spark? Just hate to cut all wires coming out of the cdi if this won't work. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
  10. No. That's why I tried a new wire. Its weird I get power right out of the cdi just not while the harness is hooked up Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
  11. Here is a picture I drew to see if anyone can help me figure this out. When I disconnect from my harness and run a test light on the orange wire coming from the cdi I get voltage because it light up. When I connect the harness I loose voltage on the orange wire. So here is what I tried. I bypassed the orange wire on the harness and hooked it directly up. The rest of the harness is hooked up normally. I added extra ground from coil to motor and still not getting spark. But as soon as i unhook the harness the test light will light up again on the orange wire. This really sucks. Feel like I'm getting close. I tried a second wiring harness before attempting this. Its like the where the harness connects to the output of the cdi it shorts it out maybe?

  13. I have current coming from the orange wire from the cdi when testing with test light. when i hook up my harness i loose current its not sending spark to the ignition coil. Is there a way to by pass the harness from the output of the cdi. just directly connect the from cdi output to coil? like a drag set up just to test if I will get spark? I have extra wire and alligator clamps I can use. I hooked up and extra wire to the orange wire connector output terminal on the cdi and it will light up the test light when i kick it over.
  14. I ran a wire directly from the orange wire on the cdi to the ignition coil and a ground and still no spark. Thinking the problem is after the cdi. I have two ignition coils and tryes on both still no spark. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
  15. I used a test light on the orange wire coming from the cdi and it lights up when I kick it over. When I connect the harness back I tested the end of the orange wire that goes the the coil and it will not light up. So I connected my back up harness and same thing I get signal directly from the cdi but not when I hook up the harness. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
  16. I did the ohms test on the pick coil wires and the stator wires and they both tested fine. 112 ohms on pick up coil and 19.8ohms on the stator. I did a voltage test on the stator and I get voltage reading when I kick it over only on the green wire but not the red. Should there be any voltage reading on the green/white or red/white wires from the pick up coil? I have a new pick up coil which was very cheap to buy $11 but it has a brown and white wire. Any idea which wire goes where? Do I hook up the brown to the green/white or red/white? Any suggestions, Im thinking my old pick up coil is good since it tests at 112. Another thing the new pick up coil only tests at 108-109ohms. Trying to get a spark. So please if anyone knows the proper way to test the pick up coil let me know? Things I have to work with is a new ignition coil a back up wiring harness and extra pick up coil. I hate to cut out the old pick up coil if its working and then get mixed up on the brown and white wires on the cheapy aftermarket pick up coil. Torrs has never been hooked up since ive owned it and the key switch and kill switch test out ok.
  17. So I used new connectors and still no spark. I got another wiring harness I ordered and the connectors work to the cdi and stator but the connector to the dimmer/kill switch does not match up or the headlights. I would have to cut the wires and attach the old connector or just wire them directly. Not sure if I should try this out. The new harness has the key switch bypassed. I have a new ignition coil which is generic brand thinking of connecting the old oem coil one back. I also have a cheao pick up coil I haven't put on yet. The old oem pick coil omhs test is a litle higher than the new one. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
  18. Thanks guys. Appreciate the input. I'm determined to get this thing running again. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
  19. So put everything back together kicked it over fired once and lost spark again. I'm hoping its just the connectors I'm using they were cheap. Going to try to put some better connectors on the orange and black wires going to the ignition. Can I use a test light to check the orange wire coming from the cdi to make sure its sending some kind of current to the ignition coil, i realy doubt its my cdi. This starting to be a pain. On a positive note I'm learning a lot about the banshee. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
  20. Hey awesome man for posting back that pic. I see both holes.
  21. Thats good if its a drain hole. Didn't know they had that.
