  1. I think it was tricked who said 10mills are the new 4mills. So true lol. Our builds are very similar, but not the same. Don't forget to add straight cut gears to your list. HP/Trq goals?
  2. Is this beast already built? Give us some details of the motor build.
  3. I'm running a +6 arm and it likes to stand up! Lol, i can't imagine it on a stock swinger.
  4. Just a duner. I like doing everything from racing friends, tree shots, to trails, and tooling around with the family. The 7 did it all really nicely.
  5. So far (Crossing my fingers) I haven't had any problems with my WSM 7 mill crank. Going on 2yrs now. With that said, just to be on the safer side, I'm going 10mm billet in the motor I ordered from Cam@Redline.
  6. This thread is what made me decide to do a super serval 10mill, and talking to Cam about the groupies that an engine like this will attract. But thats a different topic in general. The plan at this moment (subject to Cams whims) are 39s for carbs, BB snipers, 10mill billet, and race gas. It'll just be a sand bike. This should be interesting on a +6 swing arm.
  7. Sorry for bringing a old tread back from the dead. But was this ever dyno'd?
  8. I don't know if you finished it or not, but Cam setup my 7 mill duner at +5, on 110. If it where me, I'd start at 5, and then move upto 6, then 7. And see if you can tell a difference. My worthless .02
  9. Yeah, my plan is to have cam do a custom map for it when he slows down a bit. Maybe in a decade or two.
  10. I just thought I'd update this a bit. I was given a chance to borrow a dyna tech a little while ago. This last weekend I was able to finally take it out and try it. My brother and I (4mill cub, 92hp on Cascades dyno) went from a role in 3rd gear, to the top of 4th with a stock CDI a handful of times. Results where, I could creep away from him. Swapped out to the dyna, and did same tests. Results where that I pulled a little faster away, than with the stock CDI. More hp? I think so. Not a ton though. I will say, I thought the bike felt a little better coming off of the bottom end, and a bit crisper. This could be all in my head. Only way to test it would be to do a blind test. Might do that on a trip planned in late April to Florence Oregon. But, one negative thing I did notice was that the bike wanted to die, when rolling down into tree shots, or if you where trying to baby it leaving a parking lot. Seems like the bike was idling a bit lower. I was going to swap in some fresh plugs, and see if it reacted the same way with a new dyna that I ordered from Cam, and then maybe bump up the idle. On a side note, I love the way that motor pulls. Every time I ride it, I love it more. Highly recommend Cam and his customer service. Top notch for sure.
  11. I never understood why people start tearing the topend of a motor apart, and the bike is completely caked in sand or mud. SMH.
  12. If it where myself doing the build, I'd put a coolhead, some vforce reeds, a timing plate, some pods first, depending apon what type of riding you do.
  13. Best time to buy a bike is just before Christmas. Its winter, alot of people aren't thinking about riding. Not to mention the holidays are coming up and might need some $$. I picked up my bike for $2250. (A steal out here in Oregon) Came with a torchworks radiator, coolhead, t-5s, pods, 2 sets of sand tires, a set of dirt tires, +4 round house swing arm, +2 durablue axle, freshly gone through motor, some bling, etc. However, from now until Christmas is a long way away. Be an ass, and bum bikes off of friends until next winter.
  14. Because we're all pretty dam secretive! I wouldn't doubt it if something else was done to the bike at thesame time. Hell they didn't know i had a 7mill until after i beat them, and let em ride my bike. Anyone have a some sheets laying around?
  15. Yeah, I'm running a timing plate. I honestly don't know the difference in timing curves of the two units, but like the idea of being able to tune a curve for my motor. Of the group of people I run around with, 2 out of the 7 run a dyna on there bike. Both bikes are 4mm cubs, and haven't had any problems...so far. What intrigued me was that one guy had 7hp gain, but I suspect a dieing CDI was responsible for it.
  16. First and foremost, I'm a numbers guy. I like being able to see improvements through dyno sheets, not by the seat of the pants. (My butt dyno isn't that accurate.) So, I've been searching the HQ looking for a before and after dyno runs with aftermarket ignition systems without much luck. If anyone has one, I'd love to see it. At this point I'm running a stock ignition on my stock cyl 7mill, that Cam at Redline put together. I'm running CPIs, 35mm pwks, v4s, straight cut gears, etc. If I can't find any sheets, I'm thinking I might call Cam and see if he has time to do a couple back to back runs.
  17. A bunch of my friends ride 421 cubs on the dunes/trails/tree shots. My 7mill stock cyl that Redline built is a little more friendly than a cub off the bottom, but a cub is defiantly doable. What mods are done to your bike?
  18. Yeap, I'm also running a pro mod from Cam at Redline, shifts like butter. What realy sucks is jumping back onto a bike that has a stock tranny.
  19. A Redline Racing shirt that isn't my size...and just happens to fit my wife. Sketchy, I know.
  20. Cam, how much we looking for the SLPs? BTW, did you ever get that cord fixed? CJ
  21. My buddy has a set of the cascade triple plated show chrome ones, and says you can't tell the difference between the them and the Flys. This is coming from a guy who has a couple Cascade titled bikes. He's a self proclaimed chromasexual.
  22. If you have a quality product, a fair price, people will happily wait. Case in point. Very good friend of mine builds rotary engines. He's mostly a one man crew, but has help from time to time. When someone calls asking about a building a motor, he just tells them upfront that he's 1 month out, or however long. 99% of the people have no problem with this. The other 1% will go else where. Sounds like Tyson is a nice guy who has a quality product, fair price, but can't give someone a realistic time table.
  23. Expect to open up your wallet allot more. Before you choose a builder, I'd talk to Cam at Redline. Super nice guy, and knows his stuff. I'm in the process of a doing a 7 mill with him.
