  1. Haha! Thanks for the advice! That way I'll have more money to spend on my shee! I could dump her and use that money to build a 421 serval....
  2. I contacted him via ebay message this morning before you posted and he said $400+shipping for BHQ members. Ain't too bad. I think I'm just gonna go with that once I return these bent up d-arms I bought.
  3. hp2000, I just noticed your signature. Would this happen to be your shee?
  4. I fully agree with you, but will the +2+1 J arms by Fireball or Stellar hold up to recreational use? One or the other?
  5. So I'm wanting to get rid of the shitty stock J arms on my shee. The balljoints are pretty well shot, and I don't really want to trust them for another season. So here's my question to my brothers in banshee arms. Which route? A shop by me has a bent A arm frame for $90, which I could cut out the A arm mounts and weld in to my current frame. Then I could ditch the J arm setup all together, find some nice +2+1 arms and call it a day. Plus, I have all sorts of A arm options. Fireball's +2+1 J arms are very nice looking, and they come powder coated already (getting ready to strip my frame down and have it PC'd). Or do I just go find a good frame and swap everything over? Of course, the underlying problem is, as always, money. I'm 25 years old, I've got a Southern California mortgage, a truck note, and an expensive girlfriend. Which way do you think I can do this suspension upgrade without dropping a grand into it? Should I just say fuck it and drop the money on the J arms and just leave it alone?
  6. I'm looking at getting some ITP sand stars front and rear, and I'm contemplating the DWT black/red beadlock rims all the way around. I've never looked closely at these rims. Are they too heavy? I really like the idea of having rims that I don't have to worry about getting sand in the bead. Let me know, cheers. Jeff
  7. I actually have the red radiator and tank plastics. Trying to go full red. Thank you anyways!
  8. Looking for red plastics front fender and rear fenders in good condition. Can be race cut within reason but no cracks, etc. If you have a full set of red full bores I'll be extremely happy. LMK Cheers, Jeff
  9. Thanks everyone! Off to Glamis in a couple hours, gonna ride my Banshee hard this trip and see how she does! Videos will be posted next week.
  10. Thanks man! Yeah, I love them. I usually make videos of anything I can that would be interesting to people. I have about 16 videos I think on youtube. Mostly of my last deployment on a supply ship. Some of them suck but they're good memories. But yeah, all done with GoPros. They are well worth the money! Best on the market is the Hero3+ Black edition! Thanks for the kind words man! Haha maybe some other time on the pics with more skin. haha Off topic, but here's another video of my deployment, all done with a go pro.
  11. Lol. "THIS DOES HAVE THE EXPANSION CHAMBER" haha no shit
  12. I totally agree. That, and she doesn't ever really push the bike to the limits. Hahaha! At what altitude? My '87 has 300 mains and 27.5 idles with centered needles. My girl's had 360 mains, 25 idles, and 2nd from the bottom clip on needles at sea level. But I also don't really know how much the porting affects jetting. Never had a ported quad. Soo since all this has happened, I've replaced the reed gaskets, replaced the intake boots, waiting for a stock crossover tube to come in, did a leak down and everything is holding pressure. While I'm waiting on parts to come in, I did the +4 timing plate mod and cleaned out the carbs, and changed the jets to 27.5 idle, 310 Mains (didn't have any 300's, figured I'll start here), and centered the needles. I really don't get how people can be so clueless about this stuff. Even when I was being raised, my dad always told me that Banshees were a pain in the ass. But like anything else, if you do the research and know how to apply it, it's not that hard at all...
  13. So, I don't know how many people have followed my '87 Shee thread I have in here, but I need to go on a small rant here. My girlfriend has a '97 Banshee, which was partially the reason why I bought mine. According to her brother and father, this thing is "built" and has "radical dune porting" and "will beat anything" .... So a little background on this. This desert season has been our first season going out together, and she has told me that her quad is temperamental and doesn't always start. Boy was she right. Since this season of maybe 5 trips, it ran well maybe one ride. A few months back before I bought mine, I didn't really know much about banshees, so I just did some basic things to try and get it to run a little better. Mostly just replaced a sticky throttle cable and read about how to sync the carbs. They were way off. immediately after doing that and making a few adjustments on the idle needle, it started up first or second kick for the rest of the season. So her brother comes out last trip and he's like dude, this quad is fast as fuck. It's got way more done to it than yours does. I'm like cool man, but it runs like shit, so that doesn't seem to make much difference. You know? Anyways, last trip this thing didn't run for shit. Throttle not dropping back down to idle, falling on its face at 1/2 throttle, etc.... I'm like dude, there's gotta be an air leak or something. So I take it home and plan to do a leak down test. Before I even get that far, I pull the intakes off, and whoever put the Vforce3 reeds in it just Hacked the living shit out of the mating surfaces to get the little tabs off. HUGE V cuts in it with a dremel or something. No way in hell it was sealing. On top of that, it has a boost bottle, which like everyone on here has said, broke the intakes. Air leaks galore! Anyways, I continue with it and pull out the reeds... turns out the radical dune porting is black painted stock porting...... which probably means the 360 main jets and 25 idle jets are not even close to the right jetting for sea level.... I'm just shocked this thing hasn't blown into pieces. Not even because it has air leaks and is too rich, but just the sad lack of knowledge about the bike as a whole, and even brag about it. I really have no questions or anything on this, I was just getting so irritated with this that I had to share it with people who would understand my frustration!
  14. Nice, thanks bro. Did he say a full set?
  15. Why is it so hard to find them? Out of stock everywhere. Are they not made anymore?
  16. Thanks bro! It's a work in progress like everyone else's! haha
