  1. Also, what gaskets will I need to put the head back on?
  2. Ok I have a handful of questions 1) My bike is bored .40 over and it has 21cc domes in a modquad cool head. What should the compression be at? Also, would 93 pump gas be ok with 21cc domes? 2) Would a stock bore have the same compression with 21cc domes as a .40 over bored cylinder would with 21cc domes? 3) My impeller drive gear pretty much blew up and I was wondering why it was plastic? Does anyone replace them with metal gears, or is it plastic for a reason? 4) I need new domes, and a lot of them say standard bore. Does that mean I need bigger domes because my cylinder is .40 over?
  3. It rolls fine in neutral. I don't think I will get out today to check anything out on it do to the snow. I'm really hoping when it has compression and its just something with the trans. and isn't a real expensive fix.
  4. I didn't think you would be able to kick it over if it was seized?
  5. But if it was just the trans, it would still start wouldn't it?
  6. haha BEGINING** But today I got home from work and my brother tells me he took the bike out in the snow and rode for about 15 min and it shut off and wouldn't start. He said he got someone to tow him home and he tried to bump start it and the tires just locked up. He got it back in neutral and is now sitting in the shed. It will kick over but no start. Sounds to me like the trans went? I will find out for sure when I pull the clutch cover off I guess
  7. Hopefully all that is ok. I should probably expect the worst though
  8. Are they the stock carbs? I just ordered a clutch kit. I will put that in and pull the carbs and check the jetting and size hopefully on Saturday.
  9. deleting the tors is a good thing right? Makes it easier to sync the carbs?
  10. What replaces the boost bottle? Sorry if I'm asking stupid questions, this is my first banshee. Also, I'm thinking the clutch might be my issue
  11. I have pictures of the carbs but I don't know how to get them on here. Says MIKUNI corp
  12. The guy seemed like he was a pretty straight forward guy and didn't seem like he was trying to jerk me around. He told me the top and bottom end were both rebuilt. He said it was a total of around $1600-$1800. He never said anything about the clutch though
  13. how do you post pictures?

  14. how do you post pictures in a thread?

  15. How the ef do you get pictures on here?
  16. I understand they are completely different but this does not seem normal at all. I used to have a cr250 and it was nothing like this at all. I'm trying to get pictures up now
  17. Got ya. Hopefully I will get home early enough from work tomorrow to get some pictures. But I definitely wont be able to pull the carbs until this weekend
  18. I will get on that as soon as I can. Thanks for the help. Am I right that it is not normal for them to do what I'm saying is happening?
  19. I will be doing that as soon as I get the chance. Ive been pretty busy lately. He also told me the carbs are bigger than stock but did not know the size of them. Is there any way for me to see the size of the carbs?
  20. I just picked up a 97 from a guy for pretty cheap in my opinion $1100. It is very hard to start from a stop. No matter how much I slip the clutch and how much gas I give it, when I start to move the rpms drop and the bike almost stalls out. I have been riding 4 strokes all my life. Is this the way all banshees are? It is the same in every gear. When I shift up a gear and hammer it, it almost seems like it bogs out then it gets going then boom hits the power band. I am not sure of the gearing or if that will cause the issue that I am having. I am wondering if the carbs not being jetted correctly or maybe not being in sync would cause this? Could lack of compression be the issue? The guy told me it has about 6-8 hours on the rebuild. He said it's .40 over, the pistons, jugs, rod and bearings, and head are all new. Mod quad cool head, and hi flow billet water impeller, boost bottle, 2 into 1 air filter and I think the rear tires are 21". Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks
  21. still looking for a banshee? Text me 215-622-6654 Brian
  22. Don't mean to rob the thread but what do you mean they don't have good geometry on a banshee? I just picked up a 97 and I'm looking for a arms also
