  1. I had a very similar problem. I got a tusk clutch kit for about $45 and it solved the issue. Your clutch might be on its way out.
  2. sorry to brake it to ya but I found a guy to trade me his maxis for me bear claws.
  3. That's the problem. I want them..I don't need them haha. I am hoping you sell them by next week. So if someone wants to buy them, don't hold them on my part. But if they don't sell I'll take them
  4. Thanks man. If you still have them in a week I will take them
  5. just ordered the motion pro. Thanks for the help guys
  6. Are there any braided throttle cables for a thumb throttle? I have seen them for twist throttles. I do not have the tors either.
  7. Are you screwing the pressure plate on too tight? I put the screws on just a little too tight before and it would roll in gear. I think its 7 ft lbs. I just screwed them in till they stopped and left them like that. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THEM. They go in very easy. As soon as they stop, go to the next one.
  8. Just to clarify....the "one big o-ring" is actually 2 O-rings. The mod quad head doesn't use 1 o-ring that goes around the whole head. That's why I asked a "4th" time in a thread that head people that ran modquad heads
  9. sounds good. Hopefully I will get the chance to do that this weekend. Thanks for the help guys!
  10. what do you mean by the needle a clip richer? How do I do that?
  11. Update Carbs were both dirty and are now good and clean and it is running very good. Jet sizes were 260 main. There were 3 other jets that I was not sure what they were. One said 1.4 another said 1.6 and I believe it was the pilot that said 25. Not positive on that though. The carbs were both 28mm inside diameter. The jet sizes did not make much sense to me, but I am not very familiar with carbs at all. Do these numbers sound correct? As far as the clutch goes, The new clutch made a world of difference over the old. However, the ball bearing got fused to the clutch adjustment screw so I have to pick them up. My buddy picked up a compression tester, but it seemed like none of the adapters wanted to screw in. Also, they weren't nearly as long as the spark plugs. Are there testers just for quads?
  12. I know I am digging up an old thread, but do the modquad o ring kits come with the big gasket that goes around the whole head, or is this not needed? It does not look like it comes with it in the pictures but I don't understand why it wouldn't.
  13. I am hoping when I did the compression test I didn't do something right. I will be sure to post more as soon as I find out
  14. Yea the threads for the spark plug were stripped out of the dome. SO I should be getting my parts in this week. I should have everything back together this weekend. Once it is back together I am going to run it and see what it is doing.
  15. The one thing I did not do was make sure the end was in the same depth as the spark plug. I kicked it over a solid 15-20 kicks and the needle did stop moving. The compression tester I have was about $45. I am going to barrow my buddies who is a mechanic and has all Snap-On stuff. I will be sure to measure how far in to take it. Also, I have to look up what a ported cylinder looks like. I did not have it ported and as far as I know it was not, but I will check that too. I probably wont be able to work on it this week but I will definitely be at it this weekend. Thanks for the help.
  16. I am asking you these questions so I can learn what these things are supposed to be at. If everything is where it should be, there is no reason to disassemble. But I don't know what everything is supposed to be at, which is why I am asking. I have no problem with taking it apart and checking everything, but It doesn't make sense to do that if there are no issues.
  17. I never got a chance to. I'm not sure what the jetting is right now. But i saw the reason it cut off and would not start again was because one of the coil wires broke.
  18. Thanks guys for answering my questions. I have a billet impeller already, I am talking about the water pump drive gear. I am only about 40' above sea level and I only got 120psi in the one cylinder. I never got a chance to check the other because the threads were all stripped out. I will be getting new domes shortly. I don't believe anything was ported in the motor. At least I was never told it was. I just picked up this bike and it is my first banshee. I was told it was just rebuilt, but I'm guessing if it is only Making 120psi when it should be making 155 that it's been a while since it was rebuilt. Also, does that mean it's do for a rebuild?
  19. I opened it up today. The impeller drive gear was broken. The new clutch came in today but I probably wont be able to put it in till sometime next week. I went to check the compression and I got 120psi in the one cylinder. I did not get a chance to check the other side because the threads in the dome were completely striped out. The domes are 21cc. Is that compression in the one cylinder ok for that size domes on a cylinder that's bored .40 over? I started a new thread with more questions. Any help will be much appreciated
  20. All of the o ring kits for the modquad head look like they don't come with a main o ring to go around the whole head. Is that ring not needed?
