Dave5.0 should definetly buy some CPI pipes for his bike. The most usable hp pipe, best fitting pipe, nicest quality pipe on the market. Hell being a CPI owner lets everyone know your the man!

My 87 zilla is a beast. It's built right with reinforced ears, oringed head, aaen pipe etc. getting parts is so hard though I keep thinking of selling it but just can't do it.

Cant say I ever heard anything about the quality of the metal. I do know that the casting is to thin. I wish they made that bike longer and ironed out those problems. I like mine alot

Lt500r had thin cases and thin cylinders. That's why you see brass inserts and reinforced cylinders

As a guy who lived through those years something I could never ever comprehend is why Honda, kawi and Zuki quit making their two stroke quads and Yamaha carried on for so long with the banshee, not even upgrading it really. You figure Honda must have known they created what's most likely the greatest racing quad in history and quit after four years. They still command big money. All these bikes now command more of a price thAn a new 4stroke used. What that says to me, and what that has always said is that they're is still people out there that want and prefer 2strokes. Why in the hell can't Japan figure this out. BRP is the leader with their sled and outboard technology and now KTM is cornering the enduro market with their stuff. The technology is there already!

I keep on waiting for bombardiers 2 stroke technology to transfer into the quad market. I think the odds are low but do wish for a 2stroke comeback

Did you change the jetting when you changed the pipes? Did you run the r2 on the stock cyiinders or only serval? Hmmmmm, if jetting is correct cant see how it would make a difference.

ha i just had that conversation. when i checked the reviews i found some unsatisfied customers with laegers. the guy i talked to (from the big shop in california) said they were sick of waiting for parts and service so they pulled all the laeger stuff last week. He loved the LSR service and warranty is lifetime.

Strongly considering scrapping my build and getting into ice racing. Here's the problem, I'm 275! If I go on a super diet I might get 250...maybe 240. I would imagine a 125lb rider would be the equivalent of having 30-40 extra hp, and wonder if I could ever even be competitive.
