  1. I am just posting to let everybody know I fixed my more smoke out of one side than the other problem. I never posted it because the banshee ran great with no problems yesterday I got the banshee out and rode around the yard and relized the carb slides where out of sync. I found the throttle cable on the right carb was up out of the carb top-I really had to push down on the cable to get it in the carb the right way. both sides of my exhaust smoke the same now,and the engine is performing better to-I was happy with the performance before this fix but now i even have a crisper throttle reaction it is a lot better-pulls a little harder and the main thing is it is ideling .a lot better. i just thought i would post this to let everybody know
  2. hey everybody im going to upgrade my suspension on my 1999 banshee and need a good setup im wanting to go with elkas front and back must be long travel elka makes different stages would stage 3 work for mx track and trails? what a-arms do you recommend? for long travel rear would I need a aftermarket swingarm? the reason for this is my banshee has +2+1 front with works dual rate shocks and its a rough ride.im just wanting a smoother suspension but if a cant get that then want a rough ride with elkas lol. I have been looking at top flight long travel arms elka stage 3 elka stage 4 rear elka long trave swingarm link top flight long travel can anybody tell me what works for them? I know this may cost 2500.00 that's fine I also want to put on a steering stabilizer/damper to stiffen up the steering
  3. yes thank you everybody I kinda thought that was his goal on telling me that, it might have been a 700 the thing is he said 660 first then said its a 700 awhile latter in the discussion so not even sure but told him if I decide to sell give me your number- which I wont sell anyway.but he was wanting my number and said he will give me a call so I gave him my number even after I told him I did not want to sell.he said him and his father were looking for one to circle track race and mine was already setup for it. I told him no on the 660/700 so don't understand why hes wanting to call me! and yes while in the trails im moveing veryfast to keep it cool this thing gives me a smile from ear to ear I will never sell this bike even thinking about buying another
  4. hey everybody took the banshee to the trails at a state park here in Missouri for the first time and dame this thing is crazy,dangerous,and could really hurt my 46 year old ass very fast-I LOVE THIS THING. I rode it buy all the mx riders at the track and they all looked at the power this thing had-but here is the thing I want to talk about one guy even come up to me wanting it he said my banshee is setup for circle track raceing and he wants it offered me an 08 raptor 660 with mx track upgrades and pulled out I don't know how many hundreds out of his wallet. HE SAID IF I KEEP TRAIL RIDEING IT IN THE TIGHT TRAILS I WILL BLOW IT UP! is this true I had so much fun on this thing I cant even describe it IT RAN AWSOME ALL DAY EVERYBODY thanks for the help on getting it together if you want to see pictures of the bike its under killer454 I posted pictures

  6. I download all my manuals from tradebit.com 5-8 dollars instant download I have probably 20 manuals on my pc check it out take about 10 minutes and you will have it on your pc

I have a 1999 with the following parts need a good place to start the jetting for spring im just buying the jets right now will have to jet it later when spring gets here. mods pro-circuit platinum headers with 304 silencers coolhead with 22cc domes boyseon rad valve reeds and cages 66mm bore stock ports k and n filter with outer wears no box the bike has 300 mains and 30 pilots right now what should I order from rocky mountain as far as jets I have to place a order for parts on another atv just figured I would go ahead and get my jets now. I live in mid-Missouri so should be around 800 ft above sea level I think thanks for the help
  9. I think I have a junk but complete blaster carb in the garage but I bought my maual off internet so need a picture of the part you pay shiping I will send it to you for free if I have it. I think the blaster carbs are the same but not sure it has the tores on it to.

  13. hey guys I value all your guidance on this atv rebuild,i don't have a leakdown tester and this atv is running great it is not lean at all. their are no symptoms telling me to do a leakdown test on this machine at all. the guy that bored my cylinders builds big bore and stroked banshees and I talked to him about it and he says theres no reason for it if its running perfect,he went over everything on the phone with me, and he does not see no reason to do it.i had to call him back 8 times after checking things on this atv and letting him know what I got he told me if I wanted to do the test he would test it for me, but you will always have a symptom to make you get the tester out after going over carbs jetting ect im not ignoring anybodys advice on this atv-if it blows up next week I will say dame wish I would have done that--- now I can go bigger and rebuild the whole dame engine from bottom to top. if I start seeing problems in how it is running I will take it to him for sure for the leakdown test I joined this forum because I have never had a banshee before but I do know some things about 2-strokes after reading some of the replays- you guys make a new member feel like crap for not doing what you say.when I read the post that I ignored the 2 previous posts saying to do the test-that blew my mind made me feel like I don't belong in this forum and I was excited to joine this forum and start reading up on this atv. thanks everybody for the advice killer454
  14. it cant have an air leak its running so good can it? I thought if you had an air leak it would show on the plugs because you would be lean im getting ready to go out and check them right now and see how it is im not ignoring any post im going to see how the plugs look I was going to answer them after I pull the plugs so I can tell you guys what they looked like.
  15. holly sh_t this thing damn nere killed me im defanatly keeping this banshee-I have never rode one of these banshees before but I must say this, it pulls the freaking wheels off the ground in I know 1-3.this thing it crazy fast when I first gave it a little under half throttle I was smoking a cigeret in one hand and throttling with the other and somehow the powerband kicked in and I almost come off the back of this thing. I have had all kinds of atvs but nothing has ever been this fun to ride im going to pull the plugs and see how they are after cool down after the cigeret thing I had to give it a little gas to see what I have been missing out on thanks everybody for all the help
  16. ok guys I have it together I synced the carbs last night but it was wrong,so I went out their at 5 am this morning after watching a sync video on youtube and with a little cable adjusting I got the two dots in the windows on the carbs. I forgot who made that video but that guy is number 1 at the top of my list on banshee how tos right now. both slides move at the same time also I need to know if it will be safe to take this thing for a ride around the yard after warmup and retorqing it is like 35-42 degrees here in mid-Missouri today im jetted at 300 main and 30 pilot k and n filter with no lid or box I guess just filter and a little bag over it that says k and n to pro circuit platinum header with 304 silencers rad valves chariot cool head with 22cc domes no port work I just don't want to messup and lean this thing out because of the cold weather what would you guys do would you say im safe?
  17. yes the guy that bored my cylinders called me about 20 minutes after I started this thread and he told me between 10 and 18 im good on this.he even marked my pistons left and right cylinder thanks everybody just layed the chariot cool head on and looking up to see if torq is same as stock head.
  18. ok so I got my top end ready to go on and I went to weiscos web site they say .004 for every inch of bore. so im at 66mm 66mm converted to inches =2.5 so I need .010 ten thousands ring end gap right 4x2+half of .004 =8+2 I get .010 im starting a new thread here for engine assembly questions
  19. new shaft p/n-29L-17421-00-00 82.46 this is for a 1999 there all the same I think nut 6.11 washer 4.95 or ebay used trany complete 59.95+12.35 shipping 84.99+15.00 shipping 84.99 free shipping I would not fix a shaft that was messedup like everybody else said heat may weeken the shaft+the time to fix it just does not seem to be worth it when I can buy a used trany off ebay for around 80.00 right now
  20. yes im keeping this bad boy now I have never rode one before,still waiting on my cylinders to come back they will be at 66mm overbore. the next rebuild im going to do the whole engine with newer cylinders and port job. I cant wait to ride this banshee,im sure it will be different than my z400,the only thing im worried about is getting it jetted in right. I put my jet sizes in a earlier post im thinking this will be a good starting point right.
  21. HELLO EVERYBODY I BOUGHT A USED CHARIOT COOL HEAD OFF EBAY WITH 22CC DOMES AND A NEW SEAL KIT. THIS IS THE 1PC BODY I HAVE 2-SEALS THAT FIT PERFECT AROUND THE OUTSIDE OF CYLINDER SEAL 2 BIG SEALS I HAVE 2-SEALS THAT GO ON THE BOTTOM OF THE DOMES THEY FIT PERFECT I HAVE 2-SEALS THAT GO INSIDE THE HEAD WITH DOMES OUT THEY SEAL THE INSIDE OF THE HEAD BY THE SPARKPLUG IS THAT IT I HAVE GROVES ON THE DOMES THE REST OF THE SEALS ARE TO SMALL TO FIT ANYWHERE ON THE DOMES SEALS I HAVE LEFT 1-VERY LARGE ONE MUST BE FOR A DIFFERENT HEAD 3-THE SIZE OF A QUARTER 1-A LITTLE SMALLER THAN A QUARTER 11-THAT LOOK TO BE FOR SEALING BOLTS NOT SURE IM PUTTING ANY INFO YOU NEED TO HELP ME OUT FROM LOOKING AT THE DOMES IT DOES NOT APPEAR THEY HAD A SEAL IN ANY OF THE SLOTS IN THE SIDE-JUST THE 1 SEAL INSIDE THE HEAD WHERE THE PLUG IS THANKS FOR THE HELP EVERYBODY

  23. hey everybody just cleaned the carbs out very well and found these jets in this atv. pilot jet -30 main jet---300 this should be a good place to start on this bike right? bored to 66mm I think so anyway boysen reads and cages boost bottle pro-circuit platinum series full exhaust no port work k and n filter with bag its also missing 1 idle screw from 1 carb its already threaded and the threads are good just missing-I will have to buy one thankyou guys on all the help
  24. yes I have decided not to sell it,im going to keep it and add a chariot cool head with 22cc domes.and some new razer front tires I sent the cylinders off to the machine shop yesterday for boreing I have never rode a banshee,and im 45 years old and cant wait to see what this thing is like.
  25. it has h.r on a web but that's it so I think its a stock stroke hotrod crank with a stock stroke vesrah rod cant find nothing but H.R. on crankshaft no numbers anywhere.
