I went out and checked the reed cage and rod for markings here is what I got. you are right on the back of the cage it say boyseen and under it has a funky looking (rad) valve rod-on the side of the rod it says this-vesrah-2008-9 is this aftermarket I thought the crank was stock I was rebuilding a 1980 corvette along time ago and joined a forum on vets and just comeup with that name and keep it when I can for all other forums I join-my vet had a 350 in it
  3. im sorry if I mad you guys mad I never said I was a newbi on 2-stroke engines I have a bad Yamaha xlt 1200 wave runner crank behind the pipes,i have rebuilt 3 waverunners and 1 dirtbike.i have never owned a banshee before and wanted you guys to check it out for me and maybe you could tell me something I did not know about this atv. when I rebuilt my nephews cr125r honda bike we or I decided to send the cylinder to florida and have a steel sleave put in it,that bike did not run long and I felt bad about the rebuild I had a very hard time getting the jetting right on it. I am going to have to check the jetting on this bike to the Honda was a nightmare im just wanting to know whats on this atv mainly engine from the pros you guys that have been into banshees for a long time. there was dirt in the port because I found 1 carb boot halfway off dirt around it must have been like that for a long time. I will check the rods and check for rad on the reed cage, on the wave runners I rebuilt they did not have any aftermarket parts-all I did was buy what parts I needed and cleaned the carbs with kits and put everything back together and still running after 2 years on premix-I did not have to check any jetting. and I think im going to keep this banshee and add it to my toys list which consist of-2012 brute force 750 mud atv-2 Yamaha wave venture waverunners 1100s rebuilt by me-1 Suzuki ltz 400-yamaha xlt 1200 waverunner not finished yet waiting for spring to start the rebuild.on it,my nephews z400 is in my garage to he blew his up this summer so I need to fix his soon head has already had new valves installed needs new piston yet. I also picked up and artic cat 400 4x4 fis for 850.00 and decided to rebuild it im sorry if I caused any problems and look forward to the advice on this banshee-cant wait to ride it thankyou for the help

  6. the bike is apart right now for rebuild but everything I put their is on it----I bought this atv from a business owner he told me his buddys son owned the bike and come to him for money to move to callifornia so he gave him 1000.00 cash for it 3 years ago and got 2 or 3 rides and compression was shot I picked the bike up at his home its not hot-but no title bill of sale only. im going to go out in the garage and take some pictures right now I need somebody to tell me what brand front a-arms----look for pictures in about 1 hour thanks for your help on this.

I have looked on here to get an idea but cant seem to find anything. last week I picked up a 1999 banshee that had no compression for 1000.00 it is loaded with aftermarket parts and will have new wiesco pistons at probly 66mm bore here is all the aftermarket parts blue dura rear axel-I think its extended ,the front a-arms are itp ss112 wheels nice wheels aluminum swingarm guard dg nerf bars boost can tors delet kit pro circuit platinum series full exhaust 304 stainless steel silencers extended front a-arm kit-the upper a-arms have rollor bearings installed works front shocks headlight covers rethanal bar cdi grips k and n filter with cover no box dg front bumper new seat cover I think the reads are aftermarket but not sure they look like carbon fiber radiator grill with two ladies on it--lol razor rear tires pretty much new-fronts half tread plastics not cracked no where but front fender is shaved I don't know about anything inside the engine but I would not be surprised if their is more there my nephew is saying this bike will be worth around 3500.00 when I get it back together but I don't think so-I figured around 2500.00 I have already had 2 people want to buy this banshee and its not even done yet that's mainly why im asking-I told both of them guys I would not know till next week after machine shop checked the cylinders. hell I may keep this atv and sell my z400 thanks everybody you will be hearing from me atleast till its rejected for the bigger bore.
  8. went to check the crankshaft side to side bigend of rod in a 99 the banshee manual says inch .01-.03 mm .25-.75 here is what I read off my feeler gage im 45 years old and im confused on the readings. left rod bigend side clearand snug.020" .508mm right .018" .457mm is my crankshaft good? thanks for the help just want to make sure I rebuild everything I need to
  9. hello everybody I just picked up my first banshee yesterday and need some help with cylinders this banshee had 62 psi in 1 cylinder and 90 psi in the other. took it apart found weisco pistons in it and at a bore of 65.5 mm=.060 overbore I think I thought you could not bore out these stock cylinders from factory they look just like my nephews stock cr125r Honda dirt bike cylinders and I was told I could not bore those cylinders. are these cylinders on this banshee nickleseal coated im confused,i see on here where everybody is having them bored out but it does not look like a steel liner in them. can anybody help explain this this atv also has a lot of aftermarket parts but don't know who made the front a-arms it has works front shocks if I post a picture could anybody tell me the manufacturer? I will post pictures in a few I have to switch pcs to do it.
