  1. Ohh i see. I gotcha. I see alot of people porting theyre banshees thats why i thought it was a must have upgrade
  2. I want to port the cylinders for sure. Ive seen some banshees with ported cyl and they are sick. I do want to do a 4mil eventually but since i have so much work to do to it just to get it complete i just want to get the motor up and running as cheap as i can for the first time. I have to buy a complete rear wnd assembly (axle, carrier, shock, swing arm) and steering stem and stuff so i still have alot to do. I know its not gonna be a cheap build but if it takes me yrs so be it. But for my first time build i will try to keep the engine on a low budget. Porting doesnt cost much so im definatly gonna have thAt done. I hadnt thought about shaving my heads though. Thats a good idea. I also plan on getting vforce reeds and pipes.
  3. dont feel bad man this is what mine was when i got it and now.. it takes time and patience lol.. have fun building it.. its well worth it in the end.
  4. yooo... lol always nice to see someone new on a new forum.. im new as well.. just starting to learn the ropes.. welcome
  5. Joey i texted you about the axle, carrier, and rear hubs, along with the complete rear brake assembly. I will take it all.
  6. Looking for a good set of cylinders for stock crank. Im building a 1987 banshee and am missing both cylinders.. Also would be interested in other parts as well.. Cylinders Steering stem Steering tierods Wire harness Rear swing arm Rear shock Rear axle and carrier Rear hubs Throttle assembly These are just things id like to find.
  7. 150 lbs? Lol im 240 so im sure i wont have trouble getting traction lol
  8. Yeah i want the a arms setup. The j arms are ok in my eyes but im sure the a arms are way better. Im just happy to have a banshee haha. Im not much of a jumper mostly just wheelies and going real fast lol.
  9. No i was gonna call monday. I actually gotta go up north and get the motor. I left it at my buddies cause i was only gonna do the motor work next spring but i kinda want to do it now since i have to build the roller around the motor. And i might be getting another banshee. Its a 96 which is more complete then my 87 and id rather have the newer model anyways but wont be able to get that for another few weeks or so.. AHHH wish money grew on trees lol
  10. Oh ok thats good then. I dont have to worry about it. Lol ur funny
  11. Id like to send the whole bottom end out and have it done by a pro
  12. Ur gettin me all pumped now lol. That would be the powerband lol. I myself am building a banshee from frame up and want to keep the stock crank and have it ported. Mind me asking how much it cost u to do the motor? And did f.a.s.t do the entire engine build?
  13. Ya i definatly want to have that done for sure. Is there a complete bottom end kit as far as bearings and seals i can buy or do i have to buy every one individual? I want the whole bottom end redone. Bearings seals and all including the rod bearings. The 96 i might be getting has a complete motor so i will probably just have that one done
  14. Looks like fun man. Cant wait to get to mine up to this state at least lol
  15. Is there much of a difference from the 87 and 96 banshee models? I may be picking up a almost complete 96 banshee for almost nothing. My plan would be to use the 96 frame and parts and use what i have to finish it. I didnt know if maybe the parts were different i know the 87-90 used j arms and the 91-06 use a arms and the frame has differenr gussets and stuff but is the motor and parts all the same? I think id be better off building from the 96 frame considering it comes with complete engine and complete roller just missing plastics, a few cables and such. Any ideas on this would be great. So far you guys have had alot of parience with me and i apreciate it.
  16. Ok. Thats good to know. For my first banshee build i am gonna just keep it simple and just keep the stock crank and have the cylinders ported and get some pipe and do some other mods that i can. Once i get the bike rolling and running i will run it for a season and then maybe go deeper in the engine. I want to get used to the bike first lol.
  17. I was looking at redlines prices and services and they seem to be pretty reasonable. Im gonna give them a call and see what they say. I think il go with the stock crank for now and just have the cylinders ported. Do i have to have anything special done to the crank? I hear alot of people talk about having the crank welded and trued? Why would they do this? I understand the truing part i think but why weld it? Shouldnt it already be welded? I dont know jack about cranks so please bear with me lol.
  18. You have a good point. And another thought too is after working on the roller i can easily just lose interest. But once that motor goes out to get rebuilt theres a very small chance i would ever lose interest lol. I have been wanting a banshee pretty much my whole life and its something i look forward to finishing. I love working on these things. Still trying to figure out what i wanna do with the motor though. Stock crank would be the way to go for me but i really want to go big lol. I found cylinders today so im going to get those soon and have them worked. Is porting the cylinders a good mod for a stock motor? Will i notice a difference?
  19. Ok thanks. Ive always had bad luck with bottom ends because i never touched them. And it always bit me in the ass shortly after doing a top end, so i dont want to mess around no more i want to have it done right. Only reason i wanted or was thinking about doing the 4mil is because i already have it all apart i thought maybe since i have it all torn down now would be the time to do it. But the things im hearing sounds like its a pain lol. If i do the 4 mil i have to do alot of other things as well. I dont mind but if i can keep it simple and still get some gains, im game
  20. Ok i want to concentrate on the bottom end. Once i get the bottom end done i can work on the top. I dont have cylinders at the moment somil have to get some. I have 2 cranks. One seems to be better shape then the other. Can i just have that one serviced and put in or should i buy a new crank so i know im good to go
  21. No shit. Sweet il look into that lol. I really apreciate the honesty tho. Alot of ppl just want u to spend all ur money on mods. I like hearing what else there is out there.
