ok i did a compression test this morning. took out both sparkplugs and held throttle open while i kicked. got 100 on the left side and 110 on the right.

I'll take some when I measure them on Friday hopefully and have some compression numbers as well. Will I need a new gasket if I remove the head or reuse if I can;

No havenr taken the head off yet. Got my compression gauge today hopefully be able to do this weekend. Do u have a pic; of the delete of the tube delete you did.

what would cause detonation and how do u fix it.

i would never blame people for blowing something up. you guys arent riding it but i understand what your saying. ill definately try to get a leakdown done on it and get some compression numbers as well.

so you do not need the crosover tube or bottle at all. how will this affect the bike if at all. i know that the booster is crap the local shop said to at least try that to see if it would help. closest place with good gas is about a hour away. looks like i should make the trip.it was in a different thread i had about the head i have. i was unsure when i got it. by that information i thought i was somewhat close. i hope i am. ill check the carbs and see the size. what size are stock . and im still wondering what a good compression number would be.

justwannarace on another post said 300-320 main nedle in middle and 1.5 turns out. other people said that is close for my elevation and mods so im not that far off. all i was asking originally is what is a good compression with what known mods are on the quad.

i havent ran it since people said to do a leakdown test i never said i did. and what was kozyshack problem. like i said im not 100 % sure on a leakdown test. ive looked up videos but the only one i saw are for single cylinders. are twin cyliinders different i dont know. thats why im asking for help. your response was not helpful. i havent done a plug chop yet. i was waiting for a day off. ive ridden the quad for long periods o ftime im not saying it was good for it but if it was that far off it would have blown by now i feel. im not trying to blow it up riding it. ive done many 6 gear runs trying different needle positions and a couple different jets. i dont think a plug chop would blow it up but who knows. is there any way to check for leaks besides a leakdown test

so if it has a bottle it isnt stock. i dont see any name brand or anything on it. also i have lever chokes instead of pull chokes like i see on a lot of banshees. is there numbers on them to see if what size they are or stock. i was trying to load a pic of the bottle but cant get it to load.

ok on my next day off i will check the compression and do a plug chop. the guy i bought it from said he would mix race gas with 91. i was going to but no one in town carries any. the best i can do is 91 with some octane boost. he said i didnt have to use race gas but could if i wanted. so if it has higher compression i have to use better gas.

not sure i bought online they were supposed to be pc2s but have the turbine in them. they say spark arrestor tds-3 thats all i can see

if anyone lives near me that could help me out it would be greatly appreciated. a hour from vegas a hour from havasu. dont know what a shop would charge but would rather have someone who knows a banshee

i understand the the concept i was just wondering if one was better than the other. i dont need arrestors where i live? just wondering if the pc2 would give it a lil more airflow

i rode it before i bought it up and down the street and around a lil bit it ran good. i was on blacktop so i never eld it wot since it was ready to pull wheelies and i wasnt trying to upset the seller. ill look into a leakdown test since not 100 % sure on how to do it. like i said it runs good ive ridden it around for 30 to 45 min and the temp gauge says 180 even with it being 100+ outside. i dont know if thats good but thats where it stays the whole time riding. only when im giving it 3/4 to wot. i was also wondering if maybey it wasnt getting enough gas from the petcock. are most fuel lines ran over the boost bottle and not under

it originally had a 380 main needle clip on bottom. i havent changed the pilot since midrange and starting is good.
