  1. Recommendations on piston kits?
  2. Well, ripped the head off my shee. Head is scoured to hell and found out its bored .050 over. Cylinders look good, walls look good, ports, Gonna Hone it out and rebuild it.
  3. At what point would you recommend rebuild?
  4. I have same compression on both sides, rebuilding it soon, its at 115. I figured it all out, my coil is starting to go bad. Gonna do topend rebuild and freshen up bottom end as well. I planned on doing all my case seals along with a topend rebuild.
  5. This thread is at least a little more interesting than the rest. it caught my attention, did you check resistences to see that they are within the required spec? Did you test the voltage box?
  6. Clipped plug wire off a bit, changed the end on the right cylinder plug wire, Got that cylinder runnin, ran the quad both were runnin, took it for a spin, came back less than a quarter mile run, dropped my left.. Coil going bad maybe?

Well, got the banshee runnin, still dropping my right cylinder, fires and starts on two but only runnin on one, plug looks black when I pull it, still pushin smoke out and every now and then it knocks back on.. Could that be a coil issue?? I didnt try switching plug wires due to the fact I just ripped the thing apart to check compression. runnin about 110 on each cylinder, actually have more on my right one(the one fouling) Does anyone have an idea what this could be? soon im about to rip it apart, redo my top end and all my seals and be done.
  8. Dont got a tester sadly, I will have to rip into it and look tomorrow. Ill also keep an eye on my trans level.
  9. Appears to be trans. Could be premix, didnt look at it too much, but its definitely black/brown

  11. Got my banshee runnin, but it is shootin oil out the pipe like a bastard, right side, Its literally spraying, it was bangin on 1 cylinder for a bit, I figure thats why its got the build up of oil. Any suggestions as to what this could be?
  12. Got the quad runnin, runnin 25 pilots, getting upped to bigger jets this week, wound up foulin right side, and runnin on one cylinder, gonna change plugs and try again. Will keep you informed.
  13. I wouldn't see a problem with the 6 inch, What carb setup are you running?
  14. You clip the wires, and unplug the wires from your harness. You are trying to eliminate the tors wire entirely from the carb to the harness. Cut it at the carb, and unplug it from the harness.
  15. What are Stock jets on the machine I will go from there to know what the moron before me did.
  16. It is possible that you are even getting too much fuel.. if it picks up after first that is what it seems to me. Although I am not there in person to hear or see it.

I'm not looking to change, looking to just determine what's recommended, I've yet to rip into it, want to know what jets I should be looking for, getting into it in a little bity, temps are cold, live in upstate newyork, Not my first shee, elevation is right around 800. Stock carbs, no engine work im aware of, Oem Filter.

  20. Clip em and tape em off, ifni were you, id invest in the eliminator kitnfor it. Make sure jets arent blocked, change plugs, make surenyoure getting fuel.nyounshould bengood from there.
  21. Currently that is all i am aware of. Just the pipes, not sure what the jetting is as of now havent gotten it apart yet, just looking for a baseline.

As fir e flatbead knobs, the correlate with the idle on the carb, im not sure if you know what thew tors does, its the throttle over ride system, it stops your throttle from mbeing able to stick open, and is one of the few major flaws in the banshee. The go bad or short then it stops your motor from running right.
  24. Well first, are the wires connected for the tors? If they are cut and taped that is fine, if they are connected, unplug thebasterds. They are worthless.
  25. What jets should. Be running with this, alt 800 ft
