Yeah man dude sounds like he's bs'ing you. But you should go an check it out anyway. To see if your going to need a rebuild soon you can tell by the compression. If you dont have a compression meter or whatever its called then how many kicks it takes on a cold start. Ask him if he wont run it that day (even though its worth a try) and if he doesnt if it takes a bunch of kicks then its probably got low compression, You cant also tell by the way it sound and feels.... Heres an example of a banshee thats about to blow
Heres a pretty good running banshee with same pipes as the one your bout to go look at (sounds a lil boggy)...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M70a7EBdLcM&feature=related
You can tell how well its been taken care of too by the way it looks.... if its all dirty and just looks overall shitty then its probably shit.... Can you post some pics of the bike?
Lets see cylinder porting 300, 4 mil hotrods crank is 650 on hotrods website but i think you can get them cheaper through bhq site sponsors, new wiseco pistons like 300, then all the gaskets and shit like that so like prob 1200-1350
Like ^^^ said depends on budget... You could build a 421 serval and rape everybody in drags and be a beast in trails as long as your swingarm wasnt too long, Or you could go with a 4 mil which would be sick too
Do you have pod airfilters? If they get dirty they will get boggy. Doesn't have to be water, dirt and gravel dust and stuff will get them really dirty too.
I always have two wrapped through the front of the frame and in the back i loop it around the swingarm and tighten it down alot... It doesnt compress the shock at all and doesn't move an inch my entire 4 hour drive to silver lake.
My mods are in my signature and my location is Michigan, in between 40 and 60 degrees, my elevation is 600 feet above sea level... Can someone tell me what i should rejet to because i am going to go riding one more time this season most likely. Thanks in advance. Btw the air filters in my sig are pods with outerwears.
