  1. The gecko's no good? They had good reviews. Zilla is that for all 4?
  2. What size? Got pics? How much? I can get new 21x10x9 sand geiko's and new itp or douglas for little over 200 shipped to my door.
  3. If you don't have spark arrestors then I'm sure thats normal. I wouldn't know I have spark arrestors on mine, no sparks.
  4. ITP or Douglas? will a 11" tire mount ok onto a 9x9 rim? I can't find an affordable 22x10x9 paddle tire. I found 22x11x9 and a 21x10x9. I'd like to go with the 22's but two inches wider then the rim it might not work, idk thats why i'm asking.
  5. Eliminate the parking brake switch. Run a compression check. Its should be at least 125 psi. Get your mixture to 32:1 with a good 2 stroke oil. I've run super m with no problems. I've run different 2 stroke oils and they all perform the same. Pull your carb bowls and make sure you don't ave oil sitting in the bottom of them. Pull your jets out and check the sizes and clean them while your at it. Make sure you have the bowl with the double bump in it on the carb with the choke lever.
  6. Are those alternatives rated at 98 dB or less?
  7. Did you contact ECA yet?
  8. I had my motor done at Illinois Powersports. He did a 4mm 64mm bore. 147psi compression, V4's, stock carbs with fmf gold series pipes and q series muffs. Made 73hp with a 30% load and one of the smoothest power curves I have seen. This was with rear axle bearings starting to fail. The axle had play in it. And a x ring chain.
  9. V Force V4's reeds. I run 22" tires and like them. If I drop to 20's then thats roughly 4-6 mph off my top end. As for pipes, if you have DNR to deal with the the only legal muffs are fmf q series. Pipes will make the biggest bolt-on difference in power. Another cheap mod is vitto's super stock pistons. A little more work but will work with the pipe to make some serious power that will blow away any 450cc.
  10. IMO not worth the $ and the headaches.
  11. I'm going to try running UNI's next year and see if that helps. I have a custom guy looking into making me some shields.
  12. Got one, not near as fun on the trails!
  13. I ride mostly in norther wi on the public trails. At the most the puddles are 18" deep. Either I have to crawl through them or try to skip over them. I can't skip over the deeper ones. That is when I have an issue. Water flies everywhere and I can literally dump water out of the inside of my filter.
  14. I sold all my air boxes. I'm running straight 6" long k&n's with outwears over them.
  15. I've been running open k&n's with outwears on them. If any water drops on them the engine starts to rev high and lean out. If I get to much water it will kill the engine. I then have to pull the filters off, dump the water that is inside the filer out, clean out the carb inlets, start the bike up and then dry the filters out on my exhaust. Takes 5-10 min's. Its a pain in the ass when you have a large group of riders and they have to wait for you several times.
  16. I think water comes in from the sides, splashes off the seat and falls onto the filters and from the back as well coming direct from the rear tires. So it would have to be protection from all sides. I'd like to have something that is formed and looks decent. I don't want it to look redneck engineered.
  17. Since all I do is trail ride I have to deal with water on the trail. I've tried the cfm air box which killed like 7 hp and ran water straight into the engine and fried my pistons in WV. My buddy Ben had a stock air box no lid and had the same problems as me last trip. I have had k&n's direct to the carbs for this past season. Seem to work pretty good expect when I hit water at certain speeds. Either I have to crawl through them or fly across. I had to stop several times the last weekend I was out. I even fouled a plug. I think some form of box that wraps around the filters would work. Need something that won't restrict air flow. I've also seen products like a thick mess material that wouldn't restrict air flow but it would cause water to disperse when it hits it. What are your thoughts on this issue?
  18. So who changed dude's screen name to rucking fetarded?
  19. Don't mind him. Like some he's got a chip on his shoulder. I guess if your miserable you verbally bash ppl constantly.
  20. Jeff at FAST seems to be the only vendor that no one had anything bad to say on here. I took a poll last year when I was looking for a builder. I don't know what that one guys problem with IPS is. However I can vouch for IPS. They did a fantastic job on my build.
  21. I don't see why he wouldn't. Unless you only speak french and he can't understand you.
  22. Depends on what you want done. Call around to some of the known builders on here. I had Jay at Illinois Power Sports build my last motor and it turned out real good. Give him a call at 630-365-6722 and pick his brain. He'll give you more input then the rest.
