  1. I was having the same issue about a month back and it turned out to be the float height. I set it back to stock and no problems since.
  2. Thanks guys. Black plastic may follow, but I am a little partial to that Yam-aha blue....
  3. Well, I got it running good finally. I took the carbs apart once again and this time I adjusted the float hieght to around 21mm (they were around 24mm). The the pilots say they are 25's but I believe the previous owner modified them because when compared to a stock 25 they look much larger. Also, when examining the pilots I noticed they had a fuzzy looking obsturction inside. I cleaned them out and cleaned the carbs again and she began to run and idle perfectly with a little adjustment. Thanks for the help guys.
  4. I got the wheels and pipes painted and put back on and they turned out pretty. The wheels looked great and seem to be holding up (they are dirty in the picture from riding and not scuffed up). The pipes however scratched instantly, but they still look better then rusty ones. What do you think?
  5. Well, I have been having trouble with my idle since I rebuilt my carbs. Started by placing stock jets in when I shouldn’t have but I got that changed back. When all was said and done it struggled to idle. I ended up installing a TORS elimination kit and got back down to business on working on the idle. The bike starts on the first or second kick and it will idle fine with the choke on. But when I take the choke off it idles slightly higher, idles for 5 to 10 seconds, and then dies. If I give it throttle the start of the idle it responds fine but if I wait until the idle starts to slow it bogs when I hit the throttle and eventually dies. But if when it starts to slow I pull the choke back out it usually recovers and idles again. This is the same thing it was doing before I installed the TORS elimination kit. I have my air screw backed out at 2 ¾ turns like it was before I rebuilt the carbs. Adjusting the air and idle won’t seem to fix the problem, it will just idle higher and then die the same way. Another thing that has me baffled left carb (choke side) will leak gas out of the overflow. Every time I have had the carbs off (about 5 times now) I have checked the floats and they seem to working fine, and when I did the carb rebuild I replaced the plungers. Any help would be greatly appreciated
  6. Yeah, that looks awesome. I actually painted mine last night and hope to have them on my bike this weekend. I painted my pipes and silencers also.
  7. I went with Dunlop Quad Max Sport Radials. Look pretty sharp on my rims. Just waiting for time to put the rims back on my quad
  8. I am in need of a left side pipe hanger that has broken off. I have looked online and they seem ridiculously overpriced. Anyone know where I can get a cheap one?
  9. Only rusty like that on the bottom of pipe. I thought they might look cool black also since the aren't chromed.
  10. They are past that point in my opinion
  11. I took my fatty's and silencers off today and I am going to paint them too. They just looked rusty and pitted so figure might as well. I have to replace one pipe hanger. Any cheap solutions?
  12. sick250, still no luck on seeing your quad. stilling waiting for a pic of quad like mine with black wheels also...........
  13. Paint, they are already pretty beat up so I figure might as well
  14. I plan on painting them and may have to try that. sick350, I tried to look at your gallery but no photos show up. Says you have 5 posted though
  15. Planning on going with a black frame at some point also
  16. Here is what it looks like now. I know it isn't the best pic but it is the only one I had on my phone that I could send right now.
  17. I am thinking about putting some black wheels on my '98 banshee. It has nearly all white plastic with a hint of blue so I am not sure if it would clash too much. I have had a hard time finding a similar one with black wheels. Does anybody have any pics of one or thoughts on how it would look?
  18. I am looking to get some new tires for my Banshee and figured I would see what suggestions you all have. I will be doing mostly trail riding and will be putting them on the stock rims. I am looking to do it without spending a ton of cash but want something nice. What do you suggest?
  19. I figured that was what I unhooked. But now I realize I never disconnected anything running from the TORS box to the carbs. Thanks for the help. We will see how that goes tonight....
  20. I unhooked the connecter that runs from the parking brake to the front of the frame behind the radiator.
  21. Choke tube is connected. I placed the needle in the same spot as it was also. It seems like it isn't getting the gas it needs. The floats tested fine when I had the crabs apart. I am not real keen on how reeds work so I will probably check that next unless you guys have a better idea. I will say this, I would like it to be running so I could ride but it has been fun messing with it. My wallet doesn't agree....
  22. Well I got the original (aftermarket) main jet and pilot in. I could not see what size the pilot was. Now the machine will idle fine with the choke on. When I turn the choke off it idles a little higher for a few seconds, then what sounds normal for a few seconds, and then it dies. Any ideas? I have gone through a variety of air screw and idle adjustments. Seems to do the same thing no matter what I do.
