  1. Well when i bought the bike it was pretty cold here still never rode it above 50 degrees. then it sat for a month and i started having problems.. when i bought it, it kicked within 5 trys as long as it didnt sit for more then a few days but usually first kick i was started. I was told im bored 30 over on the cylinders and i also have a boost pipe i forgot to mention that before.. carbs apprear to be synced but not sure its ny first time messing with a dual carb set up. Any tricks to help me make sure i got the synced correctly? And im not sure on the pilots i didnt tear my carbs completely down just tossed new mains in.
  2. Cant get my shee to start unless i pull start it.. starts first kick after that. Im in northern il so pretty close to sea level.. i run a mix of gas 93 and 110. I also have fmf fattys and powercore silenecers and pods and my carbs. The carbs currently have 270 mains but have jets ranging from 220-340. Doesnt puff smoke except on start up. Idle is set 1.5 turns out. I run a 30:1 oil mix if that makes a difference. I pulled plugs after i rejetted with my fmf kit which is worthless and they where a little wet. Thinking i need to go lower on the jets. Just a though or maybe change my premix? Any suggestions?
  3. bought my first banshee recently and its time to bust my dune cherry... guy i bought it from gave me to sets of silencers i had no idea the difference they both are powercores one set seems to have arrestors but i know they dont have them normaly... i took the end cap off he just tacked a screen into the pipe... stops a stick haha ... when they test are they gonna look for the usfa stamp or just stick my pipes?? he said i should be ok but he doesnt go to silver lake.. should i chance it?? i mean i gotta pass sound too if im the lucky banshee to get tested but if i dont i should be ok right stick wise right sound i know ill fail.

    And does anyone think i can get away with a home made one i have powercore 2 silencers no arrestors :/ hoping i can put some screens in and be alright?

  6. Just dialing in my shee the last few days im from chicago and im going to silver lake dunes for the first time friday.. will my current jets need to be changed there too or will i get away with it? I have 280a mains from fmf and im on the last clip on the needle.. input would be great guys
  7. 87 i was reading on the site i will have to change my harness to a newer one to accomidate the switch.. is thia true?

    planning on going to silver lake soon. I was woundering what the rules are as far as atv's go like brake light? i currently do not have one i have a 87 so it never had one from the factory. Will i need a brake light?
  9. Si i need a brake light for the dunes having trouble figuring out how to wire one in. Doesnt seem to have a brake switch which im a little confused on. What should i do harness looks a little hacked up nothing major though.
  10. So i can never get my bike started without a pull start.. i kick it till its flooded and nothing... But after a pull start she runs spot on, im not to sure y i cant get her started. Ive got spark and fuel. She will fire up first kick after i get her going from a push start. If it makes a difference i have 280 mains pretty sure stock everything else.

  12. anyone know why my rear rotor flexes when using the brakes?? i have a solf pedel but it grabs decent still?? any thoughts?
  13. idunno but it pools up right where the cable goes in hahaha... im confused too haha... but it pools up on top of the trans and runs in that valley just to front of that. and thats the only place trans fluid could pool up around there haha no other seal or anything on top.
  14. ok and is that seal the one on top of the trans where the clutch cable goes into the trans?? i was told thats what the seal was called. Im not to sure i dont wanna order the wrong seal..
  15. Any one replace there shift arm seal? Im new to working on atv's let alone a banshee. Mines leaking and i was woundering how hard it is to replace and what else i might need to replace during the process?

  18. ya it be nice to have im pretty sure the dunes you need atleast a tail right not positive. But ya id like both because i ride till it gets dark and a little after sometimes.
  19. my pre mix is like gold it used to be red it had clots when i bought it but its deffinitly a red oil thats pooling up in the valley behind the carbs.
  20. well at first i noticed the gas... i wiped it down and noticed i was still leaking something and it was pooling up in the valley behind the carbs. I wiped it with a white towel and it was red so its tranny fluid. im not sure how it was pooling up back there, but i was a half court low on trann fluid i think it the gas i saw before was just spilled from when the carbs were off the night before. I will post up a picture hopefully this weekend when i got some time.
  21. so figured out it wasnt the carbs leaking it looks like its coming from a bung right behind the carbs on the right side. Its a bigger hose more like a its for coolant but i have what appears to be trans fluid. So looks like its time to tear down and figure out where thats coming from...
  22. i already have it bored 30 over and fmf fatties some reeds and nerf bars. its ready to go for the most part just need some stuff for the dunes... tires,outerwears, prefilters, but ya it looks like madness with these haha i love it!!!
  23. so when i got my bike it didnt have headlights but still has the factory switch. Idunno if i have wires for it still or not. what should i do about both tail light and head lights?
  24. so i just got my first banshee.. well its my first atv i personally have owned. Ive never riddin on sand before just trails. what will i need to keep my bike safe in the dunes from blowing up? Im not running a airbox on my bike just 2 k&n filters right off the carbs. So just from what ive been reading i need prefilters atleast what else will i need?
