It ran like a dream all season. All of a sudden I fouled 2 plugs on one ride. I am very new at all this. Was hoping for a bit of help on where to start. It does seem to run with fresh plugs so I am thinking I need to lean out the mix. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Are these still avail?

The TORS is the Throttle Override System. It kills the engine. Basically keeping it from having an epic meltdown if the throttle becomes stuck wide the hell open.

You are the man!! Saved me 45.00.

The best I could offer would be the chrome stinger tubes and silencers from my CPI's.

Quick question.... I bought an 89 Banshee with some pretty great upgrades. The only thing that concerns me at this point are the carbs. The only markings on them are YSN 30mm. I have no idea if these are worth running. They are in good condition and are very clean. I worry that they are a Keihin knockoff and will have some faulty spots in the castings. Has anyone heard of YSN carbs? Does anyone think maybe I should spend the cash and get something with some brand recognition? Thanks for helping out a newbie

So we decided to split the case on my Banshee. Turns out that the bushing that secures the gear wheel for 2nd gear had slipped out of the gear and was pressing against the snap ring that keeps the gear separated from the others. Basically the trans wouldn't truly release into neutral. After a 4 dollar fix I am back in action.
-
That is a damn fine idea. Hadn't actually considered that. Thank you! I am such a noob!
-
We didn't intend on splitting the case. Looks like we may have to. I am more curious as to what to look for if we split the case. Kinda look for some starting points is all. Like I said before I am new to all this.

You guys are hysterical!

No sir I haven't ridden the bike yet. Doing a full tear down before I get on it and ride. Its my first Banshee and I want to check it all out before taking off. In Neutral it seems easy to push. Not any harder than my wife's Blaster. Loaded and unloaded it in my truck no problem. So I will check the output shaft bearing first then move on to the shift fork. Thank you very much

I learned something today: DON'T come on BHQ and spout off about what you know unless asked. And then when asked for help be humble and offer useful ideas.
-
Chain was off and it was definitely in Neutral. It took 2 hands and a lot of twisting to get the sprocket to move. I have considered the output shaft bearing, but my concern is if there is something staying engaged in the tranny when it is in Neutral.
-
I went to remove my chain last night and in doing so noticed that with the transmission in Neutral the front sprocket would barely turn. When the sprocket did turn it took alot of force to get it to move. I am really new to this whole thing and am really still learning the ropes of repairs. Does anyone have any helpful hints as to what the issue may be? Thank you all

Thought I was buying an O'Ring Chain but got this
BryanF replied to Poolman's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I work in the Industrial Power Transmission business and I sell DID (Daido) industrial chain. If their Dirt Bike and ATV chain is half as good as their industrial roller chain you should be in great shape. Daido knows their sh.t when it comes to chain. You shouldn't be disappointed with DID chain at all. That being said, O-Ring chain while it does create more friction than non O-ring chain it also protects the rollers and the pins in the chain from outside crap (sand,Dirt etc) I would pay a little more for the 520ATV that DID sells. -
Pretty hard to come by the cascade stingers and silencers. Good luck man! Not really. If I want to pay full price I just have to drive 1 an hour and a half north and get a set. I don't want to pay full price though.

I am new to the forums and to Banshees... Just bought an 89 Banshee with CPI in frame pipes. Unfortunately in Oregon, CPI pipes are too loud even with the silencers on them. So on that note I am looking for a lightly used or new set of either: Casacde Stinger tubes and Silencers compatible with CPI small bore pipes or: A full set of Cascade Pipes with silencers. I can trade my CPI's or maybe we can work out a deal. Thank you to all. Bryan

Are you looking for the whole system or just stinger tubes ans silencers? I have a set of CPI in frame pipes with silencers. They aren't perfectly legal for use on the Oregon Dunes. I am looking for a set of stingers and silencers that are legal for Oregon Dune use (93Db).
