  1. I'm used to a 4stroke man so I really can't comment too much on whats it like before the band....to me, it's lacking. LOL @rgd! Might as well man. If it turns out I need a new top end...That's exactly what I'm thinking I'm going to do. Go 4mil and sell the stock hotrods crank.
  2. Yeah, I'm going to get an adjustable timing plate. The reeds in the bike look brand new. When I first pulled the carbs apart I found it had 25 pilots and 200 mains, the mains had been drilled out. I trashed those and put some 310 mains in it and my 27.5 pilots should be here anyday though. I put up another thread since this one because it had started to look like it was running on the right (kickside) cylinder...carbs were synced and clean, air filter was clean, and reeds look new. Also tried switching the plug wires and the problem didnt move, so something is going on on my left side, just dont know what yet. I ordered a compression tester and it should be here soon. I'm hoping the compression test will be ok. The lady I bought the bike from said it only had about 10 hours on a complete rebuild, I hope she was telling the truth. Anyways, I have that to deal with now.
  3. Ok tried adjusting that side with the bike running, same deal. It almost seems like it isnt running on that side. When I put my hand over the pipe all I feel is cold air, and I'm not seeing any smoke....It's hard to say for sure, but it doesnt even seem to sound like its running on the left side? I dont know what in the hell man. I sat out there and fucked with for like an hour, no change.
  4. I've got the carbs off at the moment checking things. When I get everything back together, I'll do that.
  5. Once i evened the turns on my air/fuel screws it still didnt correct my problem. Right side is still warming up like usual and left side is still pretty much cold. This thing is really getting on my nerves. Sometimes it will actually look as if the left side isnt doing anything at all. I switched the plug wires and it still did the same thing on the same side, so I'm assuming that eliminates the possibility of an electrical problem. I pulled the reeds yesterday afternoon and they looked brand new, didn't notice any wear what so ever. When I was in the carb, the ONLY thing I didnt check and clean was the pilot jets. I didnt pull them because I didn't have a flathead small enough to get down in there. Gonna try to get in there right now. Cant do a compression test or a leakdown because I dont have the tools. I should have a compression guage here shortly though, ordered one last night...and I'm going to try and put together a leak down tester soon. When I synced the carbs I did it by eye, the slides are moving at the exact same time and all the adjustments are the same(other than if something is weird with the pilots of course). I hope I can get this figured out and it's something simple...It's really starting to piss me off.....Well, about to go take everything apart again.
  6. Picklez you may have been right man. The air/fuel screw on the right carb (side smoking worse) was about 1/4 turn from being all the way in while the left carb air/fuel was turned out about 1 1/2 turns. Gonna bust it off in a bit and see how she does.
  7. Ok. Havent got around to messing with the air/ fuel screws today but I'm going to try that asap. I did walk out and start it up while ago so could see the smoking more from one side that I was talking about, the side thats smoking more is also the side thats heating up faster. This was a relatively cold start. I say "relatively" because my older brother wanted to see it run about an hour eariler....but even then, it only ran for a minute if that. http://youtu.be/4s495vRBio0
  8. What mods are you running and what size jets. I'm asking because I'm fine tuning my jetting right now and your plugs look pretty spot on.
  9. Carbs are in sync, havent messed with the air/ fuel screws, I'll check that in the morning.
  10. Got a really nice arc on both sides...and the smoke deal, it only seems to be like that when it's cold. Once the bike is warmed up and ran for a minute, seems the smoke is equal.
  11. On my bike the right side (no choke side) will warm up quicker than the other. Also noticed there isnt as much smoke coming out when started cold. However it start 1st second kick everytime and idles fine....Any suggestions on where to start?

    UFC 144

    Henderson just won...pretty good fight
  13. Use the thread "what size jets are you running" to get an idea of a good starting point...Then use this: http://www.dfn.com/agservices/jetfaq.html That's what I did. I know it looks like a lot of reading but READ EVERY WORD, and save it to your favorites for easy reference. Sorry I cant help you out more, but with those carbs I cant even throw you a guess. I'm new to banshee jetting too and only familiar with Mikuni 26's
  14. I think I might me joining you man. I read some things on other forums too...Lots of people seem to have had issues with K&Ns letting dirt + debri in. Although I've alwyas ran K&Ns and personally have never had any issues, I think I'm going to be on the safe side and get some good quality foam filters. I wonder if foam filters can compete with the airflow of a K&N though.
  15. I'm currently running K&N pods. A buddy of mine, which is a very knowledgeable motorcycle mechanic told me to ditch the K&Ns and get some foam pods. He says K&N are nore of a street filter and stop up extremely quick in a dirty environment. He says he's seen cases where K&Ns actually were letting dirt & dust through...What do you guys think? K&N or UNI foam?
  16. You got it... =( It transports itself to the trails around here. I have a buddy that could get a trailor from if I needed it but I'm reluctant to go by my damn self. It'd be alot funner with friends.
  17. let me know your results, when I get my jets, I'll post on how it does. I did put those plugs in earlier and try them...WOW!, after putting everything back together and properly syncing the carbs it started on the first kick and idled like a champ.
  18. I've been wanting to man but everytime I get a lil group together, they all friggin back out on me...and I don't have a truck or trailor to get my bike there. I'll be damned if I'm riding it down 117 to get there, too many troopers lol.
  19. I am missing one of the tabs on the bottom of the float bowl that holds the overflow hose in place and as small of an issue as it is, it's driving me crazy and I can't find a replacement...So if someone has a spare one, I could sure use it, could also use a float bowl screw. Pm with price. Thanks.
  20. Yea man, that is rediculous. Looked like a nice, clean bike. I'm sure you made his day though.
  21. I only live about 10 minutes away and have never been.
