  1. Ah ok, I see. So you fixed one problem but now it won't idle. Maybe someone turned down the idle thinking it would help (when it had a broken reed). As for the air screw, I'm pretty sure the other screw you see is for the idle. I don't recall seeing a 'fuel' screw on a 2 stroke carburetor, but I could be mistaken. The lower adjusting screw by the flange on the carburetor that the air cleaner attaches to should be the air screw, and yes mine is around 1 1/4 turns out.
  2. Almost sounds like you have reed gaskets leaking. Did you replace those when you changed the reeds?
  3. LOL Yeah I can see that!
  4. I'm at the same elevation as you, I run a 50 pilot and a 190 main. second clip position from top on a DEK needle. My air screw is a turn and 1/4 out. Was this thing running/idling ok before?
  5. Ah yes, right next to the coil. I saw it was plugged in...thanks man!
  6. Hey guys, I just put my engine together and found out it had no spark. After checking all the electrical components and finding they were all good, I hit the throttle while kicking and I would get spark. Is this normal? I have a single carb setup with what looks like the factory thumb throttle. Do I need to cut the wiring coming out of this thumb throttle and connect them together to get rid of the throttle switches? Or is there something else I need to do? My engine runs good, just doesn't like to idle very well at the moment. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  7. I'd bet on that Trinity intake too. I just assembled my engine and when I did the pressure test every gasket on my intake system was leaking. Had to use sealer on the gaskets.
  8. I have Craftsman and Snap-on tools, Craftsman for home use and Snap-on at my job. I have rounded a bolt head with a craftsman wrench, then grabbed a Snap-on wrench and took that same bolt loose. Snap-on to me seem's to have better fitting wrenches and sockets. I have noticed the newer Snap-on stuff seem's weaker, most of my tools are 15 to 20 years old and still working good. Seem's all the big companies these days are looking at cutting cost by going oversea's....unfortunately the quality goes down too.
  9. Heh yeah, that's my bad, I changed gears thinking about how to build this engine, was going to go stock, but opt'd for the 4 mil crank so now the domes have to be modified. Of course, being my luck, they are not interchangable with the domes that Jeff at F.a.s.t. has already machined. Oh well, Jeff will love it that I'll be ordering more stuff from him....heh heh.
  10. CRAP!! I was afraid of that! That answers my question with Jeff at F.a.s.t. I guess I'll have to send my domes to him or buy a Noss head from him......damn! Thanks for the info Fouledout, I was trying to find out if the domes were interchangeable with the Noss/Pro Design ones.
  11. Sounds good to me, just placed my order! Thanks JD!
  12. Just ordered this head kit, was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this mfg? E-bay link I wish I would've done more research before I ordered it, I would've ordered the head kit from Jeff at f.a.s.t. since I shipped my cylinders to him and will be ordering a bunch of parts from him in the next couple days.
  13. Yep, sent my cylinders to him too....can't wait to get my shee back together!!
  14. Looks close..... Shift Drum
  15. Sorry i missed you, Nick quit us last Friday so Cody and I are going like mad trying to catch up. You will get our best work and good luck with those fires. Heard its hot as he$$ down there too. : ( Ah, no problem about being busy, I can understand. Sorry to hear someone bailed on ya. As for the fires, yeah the weather has been working against us, hot as he$$ and have had several storms go around Texas. That's the way it goes sometimes. Anyway, I'll catch up with you sooner or later on the phone Jeff, thanks for your reply.
