  1. Hello. Just wanting some opinions on my jetting & results. I have a 2002 Banshee all stock except DMC Alien Exhaust Noss Machine Head w/21cc Domes K&N Filter w/ 6 - 1" Vents in Lid Stock Carbs TORS Removed Carbs have been Synced 260 Main Jet Stock Needle on 3rd Position (stock) 30 Pilot 2 Turns Out on Air Screw Elevation is 700-800 Ft. (Missouri) Start Up: Fires up 1st kick and idles smooth. Low to Mid: Seems to take off smooth. Somewhere between 0 to 1/4 throttle (riding easy & holding throttle steady) there seems to be a slight hesitation right before it starts to get into the powerband. I started with the pilot screw 2 turns out. Ive tried turning it to 1 1/2 turns out and seems like it got slightly worse. I then tried 2 1/2 turns and seems to get a tad better so im thinking about trying a 27.5 pilot jet. If I ease on the throttle from 1/8 to 1/2, I dont really notice any hesitation and it pulls strong. Mid to Top: Pulls strong to the top without any noticeable bogging or cutting out. Spark Plugs: I started out with new plugs (NGK BR8ES) I didnt exactly follow the procedure for checking the plugs. I checked the plugs 3 times throughout the day with normal riding in between checks. First check I did a couple short high speed runs.. Pulled plugs and had a light tan color. The second plug check I was just taking it easy trying to keep it in the mid range.. Plugs were still light tan color. The last check I rode it pretty hard (1/2 to 3/4 throttle with 10 second bursts of full throttle) over a couple miles.. Plugs were brown to dark brown but dry. So what do you guys think? Everything sound about right? If you need any more info ill do my best to fill you in.
  2. Does anyone know if its the Gnarly pipes or is the problem in the jetting?
  3. Just tore into the carbs and it has 240 main jets. Needle is on 3rd groove. Dunno about the pilot yet. Ya stock carbs! Im in MO so about 700-900 ft. above sea level. Ya im sure my buddy wouldnt lie to me about mods. He always talked about doing more mods like porting,ect. Thanks for the welcome!
  4. I recently purchased a 2002 Banshee. Its mostly stock other than the FMF Gnarly pipes, K&N, Boost Bottle. The bike starts right up and has nice midrange power but when you open her up and go through the gears it seems like the top end power just flat lines. Its not bogging or cutting out but the power just drops off. Ive checked the plugs and they are dry and brownish in color. Ive checked the compression and its right around 120psi on each cyl. Ive read that the Gnarly pipes are for low end power and was wondering if the DMC Aliens would help me out here. My buddy had an 01 shee with a DMC 916 system and cool head w/20 or 21cc domes and it was pretty hard to keep the front tires on the ground through the first few gears. To bad it was stolen. More than likely by someone who is on this site. Anyway... So far I have installed a Noss Machine head w/21cc domes. Just wondering if I should keep the FMF pipes or go with the DMC's?
