  1. A few years back I had a banshee that would always overheat... It already had a oversized aluminum radiator, megaflow impeller, and coolhead. I flushed the system several times and played with the jetting with no positive results. Finally I installed a 4 inch SPAL puller fan behind the radiator in the bottom left corner, then mounted a battery box where the original airfilter box was and used a switch to turn the fan on and off whenever needed. This system worked great. I have since sold that banshee and build a new one. My new one runs great and rarely has a problem overheating,.. Only when im riding with my in-laws who all have rzrs and like to go kinda slow through trails at little sahara, oklahoma. While its not too big of a problem for me I would like to install a fan system on my new bike, however I would like to make a few improvements. First, I would like to install a thermostat inline to control when the fan comes on and off. Before I would pretty much just turn it on when I was riding and leave it on. However it would be better if it only came on when it was needed, so does anyone know where I might be able to find such a thermostat, maybe off of another atv or a motorcycle... Second, It ran off of a regular atv battery which was not connected to the bikes electrical system. When I was done riding I would just hook the battery up to a low amp charger to keep it fully charged and, even after long three-day-weekends of riding I never ran out of juice for the fan. However, it would also be better if it was tied in the the bikes electrical system to recharge the battery for me. Or maybe I could modify my stator or replace it with a more powerful stator that would run the fan on its own. Guessing this wouldnt happen, or maybe it could at high rpms but not at low rpms, idk... I've heard about people switching over to a DC system, mainly to run more powerful lights, however I am not very familiar with this term or how it is done. Is this something I would need to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated...
  2. Thanks for the compliments everyone, I bought the nerfs off of ebay from Hell Bound Racing. Brand new and 150 less than everywhere else I found them. Ya, I guess AC recently started using netting all the way back, said to keep mud from piling up on them. Don't plan on bringing this baby anywhere near any mud tho!!
  3. Decided to part this bitch out, Ill try and get a list of parts and prices up tonight or tomorrow night, If you see something you like send me an offer, plastics are not for sale.
  4. 2000 banshee, brand new top end, yfz aarms and elka stage 3 shocks, g-force axle, skat trak paddles and mohawks, t-5s, soon to have cool head with 18 domes and +4 timing.
  5. Went for my first ride with my yfz aarms and yfz elka stage 3 shocks installed, seemed to handle pretty good, still got some tuning to do on the shocks but compared to the stock setup I had before its a world of difference. Ya it would be great to buy the right thing but this was much cheaper so thats what i chose, Im just a weekend warrior so its not like I need top of the line anyways... depends on how you ride...
  6. First off how low is a low price? I got a set of YFZ elka stage 3s with YFZ a arms, spindles, brake calipers, and tie rods (which are too short) for $500. Got it all installed now and goin for the first ride tomorrow morning!!!
  7. Floated the ground? Ive heard this term before but never have known what it means, enlighten me...
  8. Guessin thats why the mounting holes on the timing plate are wallored out?
  9. Bought a box of banshee parts from a guy and in it were these two stators; the one on the right looks like the stock one on my banshee, the one on the left has much larger windings... Does this mean it is higher output than the other, if so how do I know what it is? The only markings on these is on the back of the timing plate where it says " Japan". Both timing plates have this same marking. There is nothing on either stator...
  10. RM Stator to be exact, I assume they are one in the same, at least I have heard from countless others they are... I ordered a replacement stator from RM Stator for my banshee about a year ago, recieved it and everything looked to be okay. Installed it and found that the pickup coil was adjusted as far out as it would go, one screw was already loose but when I went to loosen the other one the head broke clean off... So I then emailed the guy I bought it from, (ebay) and I was pretty much told to shit in my hat... So... Then I decided to remove the new RM Stator from its supplyed mounting plate and installed on the mounting plate that my other stator (the fried one) was on. Two of the three bolts broke off while trying to get it apart... Finally got the RM Stator installed on my plate, then installed back on the bike, put everything back together and still no spark.... A few days later talked a friend into letting me pull the stator off his bike and try it on mine and bingo, we have ignition. Turns out after all that the new RM Stator wasnt any good to begin with... Called RM Stator directly and was told there was nothing they could do... Thanks alot RM... Glad to know im a valued customer. Now then to answer your question, No I have never owned any "Ricky Stator" products so I suppose I should exclude them from previous comments...
  11. My stator went bad about a year ago as well, I was riding along, everything was fine then it just died. Turns out it was the stator. You can do an ohms test but it is not 100% effective. I did it on mine and everything checked out; (except the cdi box, which can not be tested) so I first replaced the cdi box with no success. Then pulled the flywheel and saw a burned wire on the stator. Do Not buy RM Stator or Ricky Stator products, chances are you'll be sorry. I bought a used stator off of ebay from a seller with good feedback and it worked perfect, still running today.
  12. I would love not to but I've had it on craigslist for a while and haven't got many serious offers, thinking I could end up with more cash in my pocket if I part it out, and i've got all the stock stuff to put the bike back together with so id still have a complete bike to sell. Like I said tho, don't want it to come to that.
  13. Thanks for the offer but cash is all im interested in at the moment.
