  1. once you put it together compression test it and that will tell you which octane you need to run.

You have a handful of good parts there. better start then i had for sure.

That Trinity setup isnt a bad setup its before trinity really became crappy.   should have some good power IMO  its just a old school build from before they made aftermarket cylinders etc.

The only thing to really check is that the crank is welded.  otherwise it will be a pretty good piece.  looks like mostly cosmetic issues which can be fixed over time.

trust me, if i knew of this site before i bought mine i wouldnt have bought it live and learn, i had a shee, got out of the game, and when i came back had to get one again.  more fun to drive then most, especially once you get yourself set up.

  2. here is my thoughts,

if it only does it when you get wet, you have a rub through in your harness.  mine had the same problem, got a harness from JDS and it was solved. runsbetter than ever.

if it does it when you ride for a while, the coil could be getting hot and starting to fail.

If neither of those mattered, make sure your stator isnt all rusty and pickup gap is set correct.

I'm thinking about it. I paid 2100 for it and ended up riding like three times before it locked up. :( I guess it would be a hassle for shipping if it doesn't sell locally. How much do you think a rebuild would cost?

depends,  if you do it, and the cylinders are in decent shape, prolly 300 bucks.
