  1. hey so i have an 01 banshee. it has the tors removal kit. the key switch is gone and as of an hour ago so is the run/off switch. i removed it cause i thought it may be the issue. but here we go. it started up yesterday in the like 20 degree weather after about ten minutes of trying. rode it around all day had no issues. well today i adjusted the air fuel screw because it was running really choppy. once i adjusted the screw to 1.5 turns out and 2 turns out it wont run. if i pull it with my jeep it will fire up. but it wont kick over. even after pulling it and running it if i dies out which it is trying to do as soon as you let off the gas it wont kick over again. i pulled the carbs cleaned them up. everything was suprisingly clean inside. it has 310 mains 25 pilots and the needles on the middle clip. i synced the carbs back up. it will not start. i checked the wires. the black and red is connected. and the black and black white wires from the run switch are not. (im gonna put a tether on it) so everything is good. it should be firing up. but nothing. it wont start with choke half full no gas with gas nothing. the filter is clean. the compression is like 130 per cylinder. the plugs are brand new. when i pulled the plugs from it running earlier from pop starting it they were a nice creamy brown color. so the jetting should be okay. any ideas? im about to go nuts. my foot cant take anymore kicking. i pulled a plug out and like an idiot held the boot while kicking it over, it shocked the hell out of me. so i believe it is getting spark. i didnt realize that i was low on fuel so i switched it to reserve and put some more fuel in it. fuel line is clear and flowing good. idk if it is a wiring issue or what but please help!!!
  2. Okay well turned my air fuel screw to 2 turns out and seems to do the trick. Along with bumping up the idle
  3. okay i downloaded the manual. the carbs are so much easier to take off then i thought. im gonna pull them on sat and check out the jets and clean the carbs up. check and see where the needle is
  4. I didn't mean whole air box I meant just the lid. So would a 300 at about 1000ft elevation be good?
  5. Okay I talked to a guy at a quad shop. He said it sounds like I need to adjust my needles. Anyone have aa procedure for how to do this? He allso said a 300 main sounds a bit big for my are so what should I put in a 290 280?
  6. Im gonna take the air box off all it has is full fmf pipes and silencers, and a single k and n cone with no lid
  7. Yea def. Im just nervous about fucking something up. What jets do you think 300 mains and 27.5 pilots?

  9. Let me clarify a little. It starts out okay but as soon as you hammer the throttle it dogs. If you clutch a little or feather the gas you can get into powerband. Once there its great. Idk what the jetting is. But I switched it to amsoil premix at about 3oz to one gallon. The kid before me had it at 32:1 yamalube. Idk what to do or how to do it. If you could pklease give me details I would greatly appreciate it. I know nothing about these. I've jetted and put in an adjustable air fuel screw on my yfz but I didn't have to take the carb off to do it. Im so lost please help.

  11. okay so you have to take the carbs completely off on one of these? i know on my yfz you could just turn them
  12. hey i have an 01 banshee with stock engine. it has the a k and n pod filter. full fmf exhaust. no snorkle. i live in pa. i am having issues when accelerating. it feels boggy until i hit powerband. i have no idea what jets are in it or how to jet it or where to start, when i changed the plugs they were slightly black. anyone have any suggestions? im thiking maybe 300 mains and 30 pilots? but have no idea if that is close or way off. also no idea how to jet a banshee or adjust the needles. any help is appreciated.
  13. im currently in the process of making some custom heel guards for my banshee. as long as my plans go accordingly, they will cost me about 3o bucks. they will resemble something along the lines of the blingstar net heel guards. if you interested pm me and ill send you pics and instructions when im done.
