still looking for one, i got screwed the cdi that i bought was no good

stay away from rm stator

i want to thank everybody for the help, it was a bad cdi box, it was a rm stator cdi box (go figure), as soon as i seen it was a rm stator box, i took my harness and box off my banshee and tried it on my brothers, it ran perfect, i bought the quad running bad, and i got it cheap because of the problem, so far i only have $350 into it, so not a bad deal, how is rm stator still selling this junk

need a good working cdi with the round plugs, 1987 to 1994, let me know what you have and how much

i just noticed it has a rm stator cdi on it, i have read a lot of bad things on them, i have been messing with the quad, i just put brand new vforce reeds in it, it runs better but it will not rev, when i take it for a ride, it will not kick into the power band

i tried a different stator and coil from a running bike, i still have the problem, can it be a bad cdi, i always thought that if a cdi is bad that i would not even run

i am starting to think that, do you know if and how there is any way to test it

it is a electrical, not carbs, if i switch the plug wires from one size to the other it will do it in each cylinder

thanks, i tried doing that but it is still the same, any other suggestions, my brother is driving me nuts and so is the banshee i am very greatfull for the help

yes it has 128 in each cylinder, it was doing it on the right side, i switched the plug wires and now it is doing it on the left side

hi, i just bought my little brother a banshee, it runs fine at idle, but will backfire every once in a while, and has no top end power, it will rev up, but not the way it should, i belive it is electrical because i switched plug wires and now it seems to be doing it in the other cylinder, i pulled the stator cover and the whole timing plate was loose, i tightened it up and set the gap on the pickup to .020, the pickup does look like it was hit by the flywheel a few times, but it does still run, the woodruff key is good, i am kind of thinking it is the pickup or the coil, can you pros tell me what you think and how to check the electical parts,, thanks in advance

yes they are the same tires, but mine are new and not less then 1/4 thread like the tires on ebay
