  1. I wasn't implying you don't have a brain I understand what your saying. Some people read something that like this and think hell if 20psi works than 100 will be better
  2. That's why you need to use your head. That's the most important thing when doing this, if you do it right and don't get it to hot you won't damage the chrome too bad. I don't think a discolored spot on your pipe is as bad as a big dent. LOW heat, use your brain if you got one, you will be fine and save yourself some cash.
  3. That's really nice and simple and clean looking i hate the look of some of the bumpers out their, that's one of the best looking ones Ive seen great job!!
  4. To get the dents out don't wast your money sending them out to someone if you have a air compressor a torch and some way to make something to plug both ends of the pipe you can get just about any dent out of a pipe and make it look like new. Its alittle work to get this set up most of it in getting the ends plugged, once you do drill one end for a air fitting make sure you have a pressure regulator and turn the pressure down to around 20psi BEFORE plugging in the air line then take your torch and heat around the dents and watch them disappear. If their in a bad spot you may have to bump up the pressure use your head don't get it to hot and don't put too much pressure in it. Its really easy to do once you do it and you will be kicking yourself in the ass if you have ever sent one off to have a dent taken out.
  5. Are the cushion rings needed in between the clutch plates? I got my bottomend put together yesterday and was puting the clutch back in and noticed that i didn't have any of the rings. I got this thing and the motor was in boxes. I know it has aftermarket clutch plates in it, I'm assuming it was put together this way at some point, and so far i haven't been missing anything but one clutch spring so i don't think they were ever in their. Thanks
  6. I think your right, what a bummer
  7. Yeah I hope their not that bright, I just did that in photoshop to kinda get a idea what it would look like with the blue frame and yellow fenders. I'm kinda of a Suzuki nut so I got to kinda make this thing fit in in the shop with the rest of the yellow. I wish the factory Yamaha yellow was a little brighter than it is, its just a little to dark for me.
  8. does anyone have a pic of the neon yellow Maire fenders on a banshee. Is the color anything close to this?
  9. Nice, its always nice to have a oldman that has all the tools you never need but cost a ass load when you do lets see some pictures of your progress!!
  10. you need a tapered ball joint reamer, their not real cheep but the only way to do it right, or take them to a machine shop in your area they may have a set and would probably cost less to pay them to do it than you could buy the reamer for.
  11. I take it you mostly dirt, im kinda scared to run a k&n in the dirt had a couple people i know with dirt bikes that were running k&n's have alot of motor problems and the only way i could see it getting in to the motor was through the air filter. It was almost like once it got dirty it just started letting shit right through, the intake duct work was coated with dust the last time i had to rebuild one. How long has your motor been together, any major problems?
  12. You caught me, their not brass i made them out of bronze bushing stock, didn't think anyone would know the difference good job
  13. Thanks for the help, I just ended up making some brass bushing bushings for the front end. Anyone have a stock air box they want to sell?
  14. Hay guys i just picked up my first Banshee the other day and was hoping to get a few questions answered. Ive been looking around here the last couple of days and this seems like a really great place! First off the motor is bad, it's in boxes had a big end rod bearing let go. But i got it cheep and lii be able to build it how i want, and it came with a new hot rods crank!! The thing i don't like is it doesn't have a air box just two k&n pods, i plan on riding mostly dirt trails hair scramble type stuff, what would be a good setup here, are the stock air boxes real bad for power, is the a after market air box or pods fine to run. I'm not a big fan of k&n's in the dirt Ive seen a few dirtbikes run them and they all seam to have motor issues rather quickly compared to bikes that ran a foam filter and that is even in a stock air box where their not getting hit directly with mud. My second question is about the front suspension bushings. The J arm bushings are shot, the lowers A's are fine but i think i will do them anyway just to get it over with, are the brass bushings the way to go here or are they a wast. And how the hell do i post some pictures of this thing lol. thanks for any help
